Soundbars For TV

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Love how tv's have become thin, ultra great pictures etc, but the sound has certainly not got better as the tvs have got thinner, the speakers can't cope.

I plug mine through my music system for films etc so didn't want a surround system with all the wires etc so bought a soundbar lastek

Denon DHT-T100 Soundbar for TV

Makes a massive difference, found the footie commentary much clearer yesterday and I'm sure it will be better for films as often I've (and parents) have found the talk muffled)

Top stuff!

i normally watch tv on my ipad.... as i am able to watch what i want. i have every channel available on there. Sky sports, bt sport, movies etc.

Our tv is hogged up with sleepy hollow, come dine with me, take me out, the cube and desperate housewives.

I find I can't always hear the dialogue on films etc. I assumed it was due to be being a tad deaf, I can't being to tell you of my unbridled joy at finding out it's the a TV's fault and not my hearing!

yeah some films really are made for the sound at the cinema, some of the mumblings on the tv drives me mad but this gives a great clarity to the dialogue. Chuffed!

No, you just sit the tv on top of it.

Or if you mean the tv, no, got it on a corner unit.

I bought one from Sainsburys at Christmas I was so Impressed I went back and bought another one for the kitchen to stream my iPod through. Makes a massive difference to watching TV.

ah good, not just my imagination then! Dad thought there was a difference yesterday listening to the footie, as the commentary is often muffled.

You could also hear the ball being kicked more, which was strange!

I'm just wondering with having the TV on the wall and positioning the sound bar on a cabinet, have Sky and DVD on that already, it'll seem strange. The sound almost coming from somewhere else.

When I had my brain op, my head was like that! You could talk to me one side, I'd hear it somewhere further up on the other side. I couldn't play music for a good year or so because it distorted and was just weird!

Bit off topic that, just jolted a memory!

Had a big op years back on my ribs (one of many) and was in a private room. Sound of the tv was behind, tv in front on the wall, I was high and a kite on morphine and Pink Floyd Live In Venice was on ... in and out of consciousness. It was quite blissful!

What was the subject again?! Oh yes, sound bars! Looking forward to sticking on a film and testing it.

I went through the same enlightenment just before Christmas. I went for a full Amp, with surround sound speakers, but I could suddenly hear what people were saying again!!! I was seriously thinking of having my hearing tested.

Parents will be delighted when they come round on a Saturday, I could just about make out what was being said on some films but they had no clue and thought their hearing was going as well.

I went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show whilst on some serious meds. Unreal

I'm glad you started this thread as I thought my hearing was going as well! Just got to persuade my wife that the money I spent on the TV and stand in January isn't quite enough!

Had a new TV about a year ago, the next day I purchased a sound bar with bass bin, well worth the outlay.

more widely used that I had realised these then. Chuffed with mine I must admit. It was a 3am purchase the other night as I was bored!

Was looking at these On Saturday at Richer Sounds. Anyone have any suggestions. Not sure I want to spend £250 on one, though the ones they suggested were between £150- 300. On a slightly different note, I recommend anyone in the vicinity to go in and check out a 4G???? tv they've got in there at £4500-5k (can't remember exact price). The picture is truly breathtaking, just stood there looking at it for ages.

Would have thought the cheaper you go, the worse they are, you do get what you pay for.

This denon was one of the cheapest I looked at and I'm delighted with it.

I would imagine richer sounds won't steer you wrong on their options mate,
