Some fans wanting Jed sacked

What everyone saying about this topic. Should Jed be sacked for the poor run of form. If he was to go who is there that we could get.

Ridiculous !
Barnsley were near bottom of the league at christmas last year. JED has been hampered with 4 serious injuries at the start of the season. When the squad is fully fit it will all gell together

If we keep slipping I can see him being gone by the end of October and would probably be justified. Not yet for me, he has a few more games but the same mistakes have to stop, defending must improve. This is no longer a blip, 7 wins since Wigan and project the points over a season you get 47.5 - Something needs improving and JED better find the answer quick.

If we're in the bottom four by Christmas, given what looks like some ambitious investment in the squad, I would expect JED to be seriously looking over his shoulder.

I wouldn't sack him....I also think if a team sacks their manager during the season they should receive a 15 point deduction!

History tells us that Scally generally gives managers a lot of time so its highly unlikely that JED will be going anywhere, unless we are in the relegation zone at Christmas.

Is this season the last of his contract ? I think I would let it run down, give him this season to see if he can get us playing consistently good football and picking up points.

We have been very unlucky with injuries so far. Lets see what he can do once the likes of O'Hara and Wagstaff are available regularly.

Those wishing him sacked should be careful what they wish for or is Hessenthaler still employed at Orient ?

Great shout

Have to say that I agree with this. Changing managers disrupts more than just the club doing the sacking as the chain affect takes place. We have a transfer Window, perhaps a manager replacement window would be equally appropriate.

Whilst not advocating Jed should be sacked just yet it is something that needs considering if we start to slide too far, most would agree that the individual quality of our players is high, yet the sum of the parts is less, this can only be placed at the door of the manager, it's his job to mould the players into a team with training and tactics.

I totally agree with this. Whilst not advocating a managerial change we can't stick our heads in the sand and just believe everything will come good.

Something needs to change be it training, tactics, backroom staff or ultimately the manager. Currently the results aren't good enough

Justin Edinburgh signed 3 and a half year contract when he joined in February 2015!

The other issue is if Justin Edinburgh was to be sacked there is the paying up of his contract! Obviously don't know details of his contract, but say Edinburgh is on 2,500 a week that would be 200,000 to pay up the remainder of his contract! Then there is the problem of paying off the backroom staff, then should it be required compensation for a new manager! Probably looking at at least 300,000 going out the club before a new manager is sort!

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/30964/10294999/201516-sets-new-record-for-manager-sackings-according-to-lma-report

FIFTY SIX Manager's were sacked Last Season in The Premier League and Football League, Eighteen Manager's sacked in The Championship, while Eleven Managerial Changes were made in The Premier League.

Some Clubs even made two managerial sackings in the same season, so maybe the threat of a fifteen point penalty will see clubs do there homework before appointing a new manager, knowing that a managerial change is going to cost them on and off the pitch.

There's no question it would cost Mr Scally to get rid. What he would obviously be looking at would be the cost of replacing JED and all the backroom staff, plus rehiring, and comparing that to the cost of possible relegation. Would be interesting to see some figures.

It would be pointless to 'look at the figures' to replace JED. Its not going to happen. PDPS will stick by his manager for the foreseeable future and so should we. Are people suggesting that any club that are mid table (as we are) or below should sack the manager to resolve their situation?

Idiots on certain forums were suggesting he has to go because we are only four points above relegation, but not interested it's two points outside the play offs or five points off the top! We have played eight games for fuck sake!!

Where we are in the table is irrelevant. The quality of play has not been addressed since the last part of last season. That in itself will not attract gates of 8,000.

I'll start by correcting Jed's start date, it was February 2014 not 2015 as stated above, that said have we seen a steady improvement since he took over?
He's changed a lot of the playing staff, just about all the backroom staff, so this is his team and his responsibility.
Forget the "only 8 games FFS" it's been 18 months, are we playing better football than we were 18 months ago, has there been signs of steady improvement over that period.
Last season we had the worst defensive record in the league, this season we have the worst defensive record in the league, is this progress?
why didn't we strengthen in this area with respect to back-up for our right fullback, not even going to mention the failure to get another striker.
I have seen very few people calling for JED's head, there are many calling for a visible improvement on the pitch, or the situation will need to be re-assessed.
