A team built to play route one football and well coached in the footballing " dark arts".
Pools struggled to cope with their direct approach in the first half. Loach keeping the scores level with 4 outstanding saves. Second half was more even, unfortunately Loach made a mess of a corner and gifted them a goal. Pools never really looked like scoring, but they did put in plenty of endeavour.

The cameo appearance of Holohanan looked promising.

Thanks for the report, OP. We tend to struggle against the better performing teams in this League which is why I cant be too optimistic about our chances of promotion next year unless of course we sign some good uns before September. Hignett said they knew what to expect from Solihull today but it seems we just didn't have the players to do anything about it. There is a an of inevitability about all this.

That’s two weeks in a row we have “known what to expect” from the opposition. How come we’re doing nothing with the intelligence we have on teams? We know what to expect but let’s not prepare for it.

Last week against Eastleigh we knew they were very good at set pieces, we let them score from three set pieces! This week we knew there would be an aerial onslaught, how did we prepare for it? We didn’t and second week in a row we paid the price for failing to prepare.

We’re settling in to become a bottom half National league club as we’re doing nothing to prevent it. We’re not learning lessons, we’re not adapting to life in this league, we’re not doing anything in preparation for games, all suggests it needs changes right through from the training field to the playing field.

Good questions Billy2, but these issues have been apparent at Pools for years under several management regimes.
I'm not advocating a change of management, but there must be evidence of a planned team structure and playing style ahead of next season.
Currently we have numerous, second rate, central midfield players but no width. No left back, one inexperienced right back , our third ( or fourth) central defensive pairing of the season.
Part of this is due to legacy issues from previous regimes, but we must get it right this close season to be competitive at the top end of the table next season.
