social workers, your having a laugh.

This a true story, and is up to date.
About 2 years ago a polish family moved into a house close by where I live, man, woman, and four children. The rent was paid by houseing benefit and the same for council tax. Neither of the adults worked, the children, I would say were aged between one and six. My first encounter with the male was on a Saturday night about 18 months ago, at about nine thirty at night. He was banging on my door, when I opened the door, he said in broken english he was going to blow my house up. He was as drunk as I've ever seen anyone. I called the police, they went and arrested him, (he had a go at the police). The police came back to me and said, I took my dog in his house and the dog pooed in his house. ( I've never been in his house) They kept him in custody for the weekend, till he'd sobered up. I got a crime number of the police. He was not charged with anything, he got a caution. On the Monday after this I was taking the dog for a walk, he came round the corner, and pushed me off the footpath, muttering something. Again I called the police, he addmited what he had done and said he would'nt do it again, again he was cautioned, I got another crime number, and was asked to try and avoid him. I did avoid him. Every day he would stagger up and down the road, with fresh supplies of booze.
I dont know what happened, but about a year ago social workers took the kids away, he disapeared, the woman was on her own, hardly ever seen her. Then about three months ago she gets a new boy friend, and the booze is flowing again. Two weeks ago the kids are back with her and this new boy friend. Today a neighbour seen these kids outside the house trying to get in, after half hour with kids crying, she called the police. The police came the kids were still outside they got them to open the door to get the kids in. The police called social services, they came and took the kids away again.
Birmingham has not got a good record with its social workers and I can see why. Whoever let these kids go back to the mother should be charged with child cruelty.

FFS mate what a nightmare think I would have ended up jail tbh mate I would baseball batted the twat fair play for doing the right thing though and yeah some social workers are just crap they don't know their arse from their elbow.

That's shocking behavior, I would have been tempted to knock the shit out of him too after he came to your house, but you made the right call.

I really think people should be vetted before being allowed to have kids

The system is needed. The system doesn't work. They are ''all oh but they need help'' over the stereo type people and those and we have cases like Baby P and so on. Then the parents who shouldn't have there youngsters taken into care do. I could write you a 100 pages long on social workers and social services in this thread and I still wouldn't be finished with what I know of the system and what they do/or don't.

Believe me I have experienced them and come out the other side. I wouldn't give you a thank you for 99% of them. Those that are decent get out because they can't take whats going on. When the new children's act was written and came into act in 2005 I was told by 1 of the people who worked on it (as they are part of our extended family) that the new act is as perfect as it can be. The problem is, is the social services and workers to implement it properly.

Yes though I have let go of the blinding hatred and anger that threatened to swallow me up at the system (and in actual fact kept me going to get our rights) they still make my blood boil. Nothing has changed even though the old draconian childrens act from the 70's was replaced in 2005.

Terrible thing happening there LRS.

I'd imagine the woman blamed the booze problem with her husband, who had now vacated the scene. Perhaps she'd convinced Social Workers that things would be different now she'd got rid of.

I'm not defending the social workers, just looking at a possible scenario were the children could/would of be released back into her custody.

They should have been released back on a supervision/care order then. Nope they just wanted to save money by not doing that
