interesting debate on the front page which is a surprise because MF was a part of it and I really don't like to call him interesting
So, can I re-ask my original question? How the f do we recover that situation?

Can I re-ask my original question? How the hell do we recover that situation? Should we consider the 'A' word?* (administration - or is that like swearing in church?)

Link fixed, cheers for the email!
It's not a true situation based on the metrics they used Mr Prat. Zero cash in bank for example is clearly wrong for us, and whilst they picked out Chelsea's debt to clarify it's debt to owner, ours would also be the same. It's also based on figures/estimations for 2015/16, so in our case it doesn't factor in Xia and it doesn't reflect the financial accountancy bumblings we went through to make the club more attractive for a buyer. I'd also be interested to know why we barely have better fixed assets to Bournemouth looking at VP and Bodymoor compared to Dean Court...Burnley being way ahead of us on that front is also a confusion as they are currently building their new training ground (this season). So there's an awful lot that doesn't appear to make sense to me. Like many of these reports and studies, I think the true 'value' for the fan is in tracking how your club is perceived to be doing over the years, either falling down the table or making headway towards the top. Don't look at what the report spits out directly, more look at whether in that industry they think the club is on the rise or fall.
Financially we're not in an unrecoverable position, we're probably more better off than we have been in a few years, our issue in the now is Champ Financial Fair Play - which doesn't appear to factor into the above in any way shape or form - even allowing for it being based on 2015/16.

Yes I was wondering how Villa Park/Bodymoor was somehow worth the same (or less maybe) the Dean Court. Very weird. Interesting piece in the Brum Mail about our wage bill for 2016 being 85% of turnover and higher than Inter, Atletico and Dortmund!! How is that even possible?!! https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/financial-fair-play-stopping-aston-14166634.

Yup some strange postulations there JPA. Wage bill doesn't surprise me either, I would guess it's not much better now either with us focused on promotion.

Thank you, Mike for such a detailed analysis. Wish I’d paid attention during Maths instead of carving ‘’Tony Hateley is God” on my desk with a geometry compass!

Oh no, maths is not my strong point mate - just doing a few network pieces of this ilk and looking into the methodology they use, the assumptions made and for presentation purposes, to truly find the of value you probably need to be a number geek - but there are indications that can be taken from them that I find interesting.
Hence fixed assets comparisons jumped out at me as certainly with no disrespect to Burnley (they've done a fantastic job given relative money) I can't see how an unbuilt training ground and Turf Moor is rateably better value than Bodymoor and Villa Park. And when you spot things like that, then you look at Debt and that might have been 'debt' back then when the numbers were crunched but it's owner debt not real debt. Even player values is only a guide because it can be so changeable etc. But again useful for how the outside world 'perceives us' in relation to other clubs as we all tend to live in our own little bubble in football.
Just wish I'd have had chance to get to it a little sooner, as I had remembered your post and I knew I'd left you hanging a little bit lol

Just a final reflection on my Maths ability. After scoring an impressive 4% in my GCE ‘O’ Level Mock Exam (Jan.1967), my teacher said “Well, you certainly mocked the subject. But, at least I know with those marks, you didn’t cheat!”

Nothing better than being confirmed as not being a cheat eh! My GCSE was two part, I passed the 1st and failed the 2nd. On my retake I failed the 1st and passed the 2nd. My argument it meant I had passed overall fell on deaf ears and then I gave up lol
