So where does this leave us?

The gap between Championship and League one will become even bigger, it needed to be across all four divisions but that is very unlikely to happen and I can see contracts for new players having a reduced wages clause inserted in case of relegation.
A club relegated from the Championship will have to cut wages from a good few thousand pounds a week to one thousand, that will go down well with the players.
That is a good point. Still worse a player that signs a three or more year contract with a Premier league club. Then his team get relegated twice in his first two years.I can see this ending in court battles unless it is done professionally by the EFL,the premier league and individual clubs .Another reason why clubs will get points deductions. Next seasons table could look very odd indeed.

It could be the beginning of the Premier league and Premier league two split from the EFL with no automatic promotion or relegation.Or maybe similar to the old fourth division relegation.
