..............................................................................................
Wonders who the first one will be to say I hate that song too? :3:

..........................................................................................

So how has 2016 been for you? It's been a b awful 1 here with only a few highlights.

The highlights: 1/ Our eldest wedding 2/ Villa being sold 3/ We are all alive

Yes, yes there are plenty of blessings, like The U.K aren't as mad as The U.S though it is pretty close, we have a home, roof over our heads etc. Just going on the overall picture of 2016

Any regrets this year of things you wish you had done and didn't for whatever reason etc?

On balance, 2016 has probably been no better or worse than any other year in recent memory.

I can't say all of my dreams have been realised, and there have been many times when life has been tough, relatively speaking. After all, I still have a home, health, family, job, etc. (so 'tough' for me really is a 'First World problem', as opposed to the Middle East, say).

But by-and-large, life treats me well, even if I don't necessarily appreciate what I have around me.

I wish I hadn't spent so much money in supermarkets, and I wish I had been more forceful with people rather than let them take advantage, but both of those could easily apply to any other year of my adult life!

Anyway, enough rambling. Merry Christmas in advance to ALL Vital Villans, although I'm sure I'll re-iterate those sentiments nearer the time.

Not a great year at all.
Tough going at home and work and villa relegated.

But as the saying goes it could be much worse so cannot complain too much

It was our first full year back in Ireland since our memorable meanderings in Lancashire which had begun as long ago as early 2011 and it did not start well.
I ended up in hospital for my 70th birthday in January after a fairly miserable few weeks. That was the first time I'd been admitted to hospital in about forty years.
Without giving a blow by blow account, suffice to say that I had two lots of jaundice and four stays in total between then and 4th July at which point there was Independence Day for me (and for Mrs BBJ who had spent several tiresome months mopping my fevered brow...) when they finally removed my gall bladder.
The shennanigans at Villa Park last season did not add to my joie de vivre either.
Anyway, that was then. Now I'm much better and we're enjoying life though I have to stay that my energy levels are quite limited.
We had a family reunion in October to coincide with herself's 70th and also our 48th wedding anniversary. Everyone in the family of which Mrs BBJ and I are the founder members showed up. That comprised 31 people in all - six grown-up children and their spouses and seventeen grandchildren. aged from one to twenty. (It goes to show what can end up happening after a young fellow meets a young woman at a dance!)
I hope you will have all have a wonderful Christmas and that 2017 will be kind to all of us.

Not a great year. Certainly not financially.

Less days where I was working, cut down to part-time, and now nothing. Also had my wallet pinched with all my rent money and more a few months back.

But I still have my health, and still have all my friends and family, so I'm as lucky as can be.

A bit of a mixed bag. Financially, it was a great year. We reached our target for the year in September so I'm happy with that.

Personally, it hasn't been great. Expanding my company so fast meant bringing in some people who weren't up to scratch. I had to fire two of them in two months. It also meant working way too much so apart from going home for two weeks and being at my cousin's wedding, I didn't do anything interesting this year.

Hopefully, 2017 will bring a better work/life balance.
