So How Was 2017 For You?

Hard to say, it all went by far too quickly.

At least, it seemed to. Obviously, it went by at the same rate as every other year, but I can't believe it is New Year's Eve already.

On the whole, it went well.

Early part of the year was a struggle with trying to get Mrs P here, but it was all worth it when she finally arrived in August.

Now, I face a fight to keep her here with me, as she's only here on a 6 month visitors visa. Fortunately I have good solicitors fighting my corner, but at a cost, but it's more than worth it.

An epic year for me. Totally fascinating despite the usual health challenges.

Seen some great concerts:

Bring Me The Horizon – Las Vegas – April 2017
U2 (I bought VIP ticket!) – Twickenham – July 2017
Coldplay – Paris – July 2017
Kasabian – Milan – November 2017
Robert Plant – Wolverhampton Civic Hall – November 2017
Royal Blood – Nottingham Arena, November 2017
Kasabian – Birmingham Arena, December 2017
Liam Gallagher – Arena Birmingham – December 2017
The Prodigy – Wolverhampton Civic Hall – December 2017

Been to Vegas to be (joint) best man at Deano's wedding.

Kuala Lumpur four times (on a spiritual/healing quest that has done me good)

Finished my book (all but one thing I have to wait for) after many years.

Paris and Milan (concerts above) and plenty of good days/nights out with good friends.

Worst part was a dash to A&E with the brain aches having a hissy fit but then not that many months later, I did a bucket list that I never thought I'd be able to complete. A marathon. Very proud of that. And climbed Snowdon as well.

Wow. You never mentioned the marathon before.

Also you should add that you went to see U2 with me which clearly made it even more memorable.

:14:

Yes, sorry.

Nightmare journey, had to talk to sirdennis all the way there and back.

BUT you've taken action now, so onward and upward. Unlike some, who moan year in, year out but don't actually make any changes.

Life doesn't come to you, you have to go out and grab it.

Been a topsy turvey year it has to be said , I've had to face some challenges that are new to me and been hard to deal with.
Could be a lot worse though and I've had a few nice days here and there.

Overall, it was a great year. There were a few really difficult bits but they have all been resolved and leave me in a better position than when I started.

I've resolved to take more holidays in 2018.

The Fear - 1/1/2018 21:27

A very nice resolution I must say!

I think I mentioned it to you when you were here, I burned myself out in work and should have taken a proper holiday in August or September but didn't. Hopefully, I can learn from my mistakes.

I find it impossible to switch off when I'm at home but as soon as I leave the city, I lose the feeling obligation to keep working.
