Snodgrass?

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Thoughts on this loan move for Snodgrass?

I'm a bit meh, not against, not really for. Not sure I see the point.

Agree or can you educate me as to why this is a good move.

As with all players reaching the 29 -30 mark its a case of is the desire still there ? Speaking to Leeds fans they said he was a good player who always put a shift in so lets hope Bruce can get the best out of him. Lets put it this way I prefer it to the signings of Elmo & Whelan anyway.

Meh.

Not sure where he'll fit into the starting lineup and not sure he's much of an improvement on what we already have.

Certainly no worse than what we have though and Bruce has worked with him before so must think his attitude and personality are right, so I'm not against it.

5 out of 10 signing.

Yes whenever I have seen him play , I have always got the impression that he looks the part , but the end product is always wanting.

I saw Bruce said he can play anywhere across the front line .

You know that old footballing phrase 'you can never have enough right-sided players'?

Me neither.

I think Snodgrass is a decent premier league player so him joining us is a good deal.

West Ham are a decent PL side and they paid good money for him not that long ago and although it hasn't worked out for him, he was always one of the better players at Norwich and Hull in the premier league.

Agree his age isn't great but it's a loan signing so who cares if he will be too old in 2 or 3 years. Considering this time last year we signed a 30 year old striker who's never played above the championship for £12m on a 4 year contract I think a loan deal for a premier league player is a massive improvement on things.

As for complaints about him being a right sides player, I'm pretty sure he can play on the left or even in the middle so I don't know why people are getting so hung up about it. We're also missing Grealish for potentially half the season so we are actually down on numbers for wide players.

I think it's a very good signing, and was surprised Prem teams weren't in for him, especially the newly promoted ones.

He's always looked quality when I've seen him play for Norwich and Hull, and has a decent free-kick in his pocket.

Why not, apparently adds class in the dead ball situations, something we have been terribly bad at for years. Also he seems to always put a shift in.

Ypu cant have enough good players

And he is a good, if not class, player.

Easy iny eyes.

A. If we are 1 up with 10 to go, has he experience and ability to come on and close the game out - yes

If Green gets injured, would you rather have Snodgrass or Bjatnsson - Snodgrass.

There is a reason WHU forked out 10m 6 months ago, even if it hasnt worked out. Sometimes it dont, Alan Thompson comes to mind

Looks like McCormack out and Snodgrass in. I think he will add some bite and a few goals/assists. Can't go wrong as a loan replacing the now poor signing McCormack

I'm just worried that he could become disruptive if things don't go his way. He has previous in being naughty boy given he missed court twice.

In another thread, I described the chase for Snodgrass as 'constipated thinking' and to my mind, that phrase describes perfectly this summers transfers, on the whole.
We need players in other positions far more urgently than we need a player like Snodgrass.

I stand to be corrected here but didn't Elmohamady play behind Snodgrass at Hull? If so then that's all round good news because they know each others game and it puts Hutton further back for selection!?

I just think the money could have been spent in strengthening other areas like the left side.

Another very good proven player at this level. As long as Bruce plays him in his favourite position I can't see a downside with this signing. Has an eye for a goal and good at set pieces something that we have been lacking in the squad for some time. Welcome to VP
