Smoking ban

As a never ever smoker, let them carry on as much as they like or the tax take will go up for the rest of us if it's stopped.

Some good advice I had from a former MD was; to make a round of drinks morning and afternoon, but most importantly fill the kettle and stand in the kitchen while it boils. It forces you to have ten minutes away from your desk without interruption. It also gives you credit with staff and colleagues.
Much better than going out for a cigarette.
You're buggered when the whole office is in the kitchen though!

As an ex smoker, occasional vaper (I use when stressed or/and watching Villa) and I use nicotine free vape anyway, I'm pleased with this. It is right disposables are banned. Totally agree with this.

Should never have been legalised. Single use plastics, batteries, electronics, endless boxes in the street from lazy shits. Took bloody long enough, but not sure it has to wait until June.

And also very unsure why they are banning the sale and the not the import, as that seems very lazy and short sighted.

Yes I have to agree, years ago the streets were littered with fag packets and nub ends, now all you will see is little plastic vapes tossed away.I suppose at least paper boxes disintegrated within a short time.

I went for a walk the other day to the new hospital at Cape Hill. The Midland Metropolitan University Hospital to give it its full title. Very impressive as it should be the time and money it cost to build.
I thought I'd suss out where A&E is just in case I have to get there. It's right at the front big sign saying Emergency!
The first thing I see is a family of greasy-haired scruffy chavs coming out for a Fag! I walked around to the main entrance and sat outside the Costa, and bearing in mind its not fully open by any means yet, out of the main entrance wander a grey face old lady, I say old, she was probably younger than me, fag in gob ready to light it the second she hit fresh air. FFS what is the matter with these people?

Don't worry, our government are gonna kill em off. That'll save a few quid.

Not sure, but I guess the doctors are trying to get to the bottom of it if they are at a hospital!

Ha, yes, always looks odd to me, especially the ones who are obviously patients within the hospital (drips, pyjamas etc) outside undoing the work being done to cure them. And I can provide a caveat, there isn't anything I haven't tried over the years to be well again, if you don't want to be well, don't block the beds innit.

Am I the only one who lit up at the entrance, then went for a wander to get out the way, returned to entrance to finish (serving as doorman), stubbed on wall so I could put the nub in the bin?

I know some didn't, but I thought that was the done thing when you were in?

When visiting, find the smoking hut and feck off there or at least wander, you get out the way either way. But surely that applies to non smokers and the entrance as well?

They are addicted and unwilling or unable to quit. It's the same as any other addiction, while they are in the hospital and unable to smoke, all they are thinking about is when they can get their next fag.
