Skoorb on the Spot - City 0 Everton 0

I would say East bottled it .....had it not been for the failure to give several other decisions notably the shout for the Jagielka/Stones obstruction of Aguero. Someone was going to have to be chopped in half before we got a penalty last night.

I can understand Sterling might not be flying down the wing quite as frequently as perhaps he had been when playing for The People's Champion but that does not explain why he still hasn't been given many of the obvious and clear decisions when he has been fouled.

I can't imagine a co-ordinated, planned and well orchestrated campaign is in place to deny him free kicks etc to I can believe that officials are being affected during games or even in their heads due to the previous media hype about the move and the general (but bizarre) unpopularity of the move. It may seem odd but it is as if he is being punished for breaching some unwritten rule.

What a great clip. Two consummate professionals putting aside any personal bias and being even handed. No hint of an agenda whatsoever

But that was in a parallel universe. Meanwhile in our own version of reality......

Tossers the pair of them.

Charlie Nicholas is among the long list of utterly biased pundits who are so unprofessional that they are unable to separate their personal bias and feelings from their job. He knew that had City won his beloved Arsenal would have been under greater threat but could he swallow his personal agenda? Of course not.

Whilst bias might be expected from him it is not from Stelling. He used to have some credibility in my eyes as he used to try and keep the muppets he worked with under some sort of control but he is now on my sh*t list. Twat.

Steve Stone joins the ranks of those who don't have an agenda.....

"I think the ref has got it wrong there. Sterling has nicked the ball over the top of Stones, and it's clearly a foul in the box."

Any idea what was said own MOTD? I didn't see it.

Didn't see it mate but I have read elsewhere today that ex ref Gallagher was on S*y and couldn't understand why the pen wasn't given.

Graham Poll apparently has said it should have been a pen too.

And last and most definitely least, brace yourself, you may want to be sitting down for this one.............Danny **cking Mills said it should have been a penalty.

I'm actually beginning to wonder now we're Nicholas and Stelling taking the piss?

That might explain it alright.

Just watched it again - Sterling pushes past Stones, feints that he is going to cross which commits Stones to go to ground to try and prevent the cross. Sterling of course doesn't cross but Stones is committed and his momentum carries him into Sterling's legs.

Stone Wall Penalty All Day Long

At one point I wondered whether the ball had already crossed the dead ball line before contact but it is still in play.

Sterling has 'drawn the foul' - an attribute which I have heard lauded many a time in commentary. He has sucked the defender in and followed him into committing a foul and with that contact the offence is complete.

It was a foul and Martinez needs to look at it again with others and justify why he is claiming Sterling cheated.

Would love to hear Roger East explain his way out of it as well :doh!:

The inimitable Mr east will be plying his trade at Villa Park where The Villains are hosting Leicester.

We have the pleasure of Mr Jon Moss

Good find BD, it appears that only Charlie Necklace and Jiff stalling plus roger east didn't think it was a penalty. I wonder if they will rethink this coming Saturday's show
