I think of myself as fairly liberal, but as said above, that's way too soft. Should be an automatic ban, and some kind of community service working with victims of accidents where someone was using a mobile.
6 points won't put people off. Zero tolerance is the inly way forward.
Should be more videos of text etc driving. They need to forcefeed people to stop it and also attach a stigma to it like they did with drink driving all those years back (and I think that needs doing more again now, our generations know the stigma, I'm not sure the younger generations do as there aren't the advertising campaigns anymore)
should be a straight ban. People aren't thick enough to not realise the dangers. Not only are they putting themselves at risk, but also innocent people. :26: :26: :26:
Driving is a privilege, not a right. We have to change attitudes towards it. If nothing else, it would get a lot of cars off the road and reduced congestion.
I touched my phone twice while driving today. Once to bring it back to the main menu and then to bring up Google Maps. It was already in the holder and I'd already loaded up the map.
No but I was knocked off by bike by someone playing with his stereo. Just making a point that many things can distract us. Arguing with a girlfriend is quite a bad one.
