Did anyone else notice he kept losing his footing it was at least four
Times I know he got the new protection boots for his ankle
Where the studs right
He is also nearly back to his best I think Isco would be a great buy
To support him and sell the powderuff :gay: Sameri

He wasn't the only one I think - several other of our players were prone to slips. I did think the Watford players were more sure of their footing so perhaps there is something about their knowledge of their home pitch. It looked a cabbage patch compared to many of the surfaces in the league especially the Etihad so I think they probably use boots with longer studs.

The Etihad pitches are immaculate but they use plastic strips woven into the surface which hold the soil together and prevent it cutting up. The result is that the surface is actually quite hard and never gets very boggy so the players will favour blades or relatively short studs. The Watford pitch looked 'old school' and probably doesn't have the same type of surface - it looked badly cut up and bobbly. Combined with the incessant drizzle it was clearly not suited to City's type of play and it took time to adjust. Plenty of misplaced passes in the first half (only 78% pass completion) but I think the players coped batter second half.

I'm not sure how many players use boots with studs these days.

I mentioned that they should consider longer studs, the surface was very wet especially the edges, it was like a bog. Yje team of the 70s would have loved it.

Certainly look better than running around with these bloody pink efforts. I can't begin to imagine what I would have put up with had I worn them.. Would have had to wait until last for the showers for certain. !!
