Signings for 2026/27 Season

Second signing Jack Nolan - scored plenty of goals for Morecambe last season.

So far so good, but we're still well short of a competitive squad of players.

Long way to go, but a positive and early start.

Looks like 2 x strikers and 2 x wingers, encouraging for the rest of the close season :red:

Will there be further signing(s) today?
Need to see some recruits for midfield to create opportunities for the assembled strikeforce.

No signings today 😢, perhaps tomorrow will bring further reinforcements

Think that might be why we signed Ilunga and McKeown to feed Nolan, Hughill etal. maybe Blackett or hopefully Harris being etal.

Charman could always chip in with service too.

Midfield general to break things up next

With the addition of Chris Popov and Will Harris Pools appear to be signalling their intent to be an attacking force in NL this season.

There seems to be some confusion at Halifax about Harris' contractual status.
Yer, there seem to be two different legal interpretations. ....one that if the Club wanted to offer Harris an extension they should have done so at the time the old contract ended, the other that Halifax had a right not to extend until the end of June.

Possibly an attempt not to pay the player for a few weeks while at the same time keeping him on their books. Bring on Keir Starmer, I say, he's the legal expert and he's got nothing else on his plate just now.

No word of Halifax official action so seems like the deal is done and dusted. Sounds like the sort of poor organisation that we tend to expect of HUFC. Question is will Will be any good?

Latest signing Terry Bondo, only 19 years old and looks a real prospect. This signing, along with that of Charlie Penman would suggest that there's an intent to develop younger players in addition to having a competitive first team.

I’ve heard it being inferred in certain corners of t’internet that we are trying to ‘buy the league’. It should all go well if they gel, I’m banking on us getting 100pts which hopefully sees us win the league, don’t want a ticket in the lottery that is the playoffs, not with 100pts on the board.

Think it's a bit of a "quantum leap" from making a few decent (on paper) signings to getting a 100pts and winning the league!
Would love Pools to win the League, but there are several clubs this season who appear to be bolstering their squads ready to challenge for winning the league. I think it's going to be very competitive this year with no single standout team.

I know what you’re saying, happened a few years back with a fella called Dom Telford, got 20+ league goals for Newport, i think, moved to Crawley and got half that. He’ll be reet :red:

With yesterday's signing, Neo Eccleston, Pools have now added 10 new faces to the existing squad. I'm guessing that we only need a further 2 players, IMO a goalkeeper and an attacking midfielder. However, I doubt the Club will have the same ideas 🤷‍♂️

Still awaiting the signing of a goalkeeper. Perhaps the Club have someone lined up but it is getting mighty close to the start of the season and I'd expect a goalkeeper should be integrated with the rest of the defence in preseason!

On the same note, it seems a lot of NL teams are signing goalkeepers from Premiership and Championship "youth / U21" setups on loan for next season. Not sure that's a good policy?

At long last a goalkeeper signed, albeit a youngster on loan from Chelsea!
Don't think he's all that tall either 🤷‍♂️
