Shrewsbury

Perhaps if the government had taken note of the expert report produced in 2007 after floods in that year and spent some of the £120 billion it is spunking on HS2 on flood prevention, we might all be in a better position.

Still, as Gove said "I think this country has had enough of experts".

And, people keep voting for these idiots.

I think you’ll find that the term you were looking for, as preferred by the missing PM is Spaffling and not the out dated term of Spunking.

Sorry to butt in to the Communist love in guys but how's the flooding in Shrewsbury going? I reckon this must be a new record for one of our threads, what with only the OP being truly on topic.
Poor people of Shrewsbury and Ironbridge. The water is pouring in from the mountains of north wales. Bloody labour led welsh assembly. Get your fingers out of your arses!

Been on the Midlands news tonight from Shrewsbury and Ironbridge. High water tonight will be touch and go whether the water level goes over some of the defences. All trains to east cancelled, but N and S ok, Restricted park and ride service to the footy ground

Cognitive dissonance is rife amongst most normal Tory voters though. And to stay with the floods, we should not forget that animal agriculture is the biggest single cause of climate change. Grazing animals has also caused soil compaction and reduced plant cover leading to faster run off. And then there is the people who have concreted over their front gardens to accomodate more cars which also causes more pressure on drainage..

Goodness me and I thought the thousands of aeroplanes spewing their filth into the atmosphere and the millions of cars and lorries doing likewise not to mention the pollution produced by power stations was a little bit responsible for climate change.
All this time I didn’t realise I should be blaming my pet cow down the bottom of the garden. You’re not a slightly deranged animal activist who pedals bullshit to fit your agenda by any chance are you

It is a fact and you obviously do not understand what the significance of 'animal agriculture is the biggest single' as in counting it as an industry as a whole. Air travel is actually second and personal travel third. Maybe us animal and environmental activists have done more research and consequently know more about it that cognitive dissonant right wing climate change deniers like you do.

And perhaps the experts at the UN know more than you do to especially as the people who said we did not need experts to advise us on how to vote in the referedum now say that we need experts in the Brexit negotiations because it is tooo diffiecult without them

With respect to causes of global warming, may I suggest that bucolic flatulence comes a distant second to human bullshit

Sorry I wasn’t aware I was a cognitive dissonant right wing climate change denier. Been called a few things but that’s a new one.

My son is most pleased with himself. He managed to get both in and out of Shrewsbury today by public transport and on to Welshpool before it sank. Now that both it and Shrewsbury are fully submerged and all transport links south, east and west are shut, he is forced to stay over at his girlfriend's house in Wales.

Oh the loves that we all had when we were 17. Couldn't be arsed to brave flood waters for it mind. Let alone the risk of going into Wales.
