Shrewsbury players - any that you think would do well for us?

Just thinking that a failed play off final normally leads to the break up of a team. Any Shrewites who might be good for us?

It's Sunday and I'm at work, so no niceties from me I'm afraid! lol
We need a promotion winning team for next season, and none of their players are good enough!

Surely if a team is broken up then their best players would be attracted by those in the top 8 or so of the table and therefore the top 8 budget. For tomorrow’s losers I think this’ll definitely be a good topic.

Usually if a team breaks up then it is the result of bigger teams signing their best players who they believe can play the next level up. The club themselves will want to keep that team together and add an extra player or two. We didn't break up our team when we lost to Man City and brought in the likes of Lewis and Thomson who both played key roles the following year.

We are more likely to get players from Rotherham who will look to get rid of those they consider to be good league one players but not good enough for the Championship. That was the reason why we were able to sign Lee Martin and a few others down the years.

Good call BB. Change the thread title to Rotherham.

Now, who do we think we could get from their team?

Both teams had some quality and influential loanees in their line-ups - evidencing, perhaps, that season-long loan deals are the way forward ?

If we could get him, Smith from Rotherham (a Millers player, not loanee) would be a great signing for us, plus he`d understand Eaves`s accent !
