..when England score and win?

I think I should but I did say to a bemused friend the other day that I actually derive more elation when the Gills score and win. Is this wrong ?

I don`t suppose anyone else thinks that way, or do they ?

I can answer your question by saying that if there was a choice between going to a meaningless div 1 fixture involving the Gills and a watching a vital England World Cup qualifier, I'd be at the Gills.

No not at all. Gills will always be my first team, and England are my second team and the only other one I would ever cheer on and get excited about!

I think Phil was refering to what I would call "real" fans. Gills first for me.

But I have really enjoyed watching the videos of football fans all over England getting together and celebrating the wins. There has been some cracking footage. And when fans congregate like that, it looks like they celebrate every bit as much as they do for their clubs.

Can't get excited when England win a qualifier. But tournaments are certainly different.

I guess it depends, for me. The question might need to be, what would you prefer, England to win the world cup, or gills to win league 1.

Certainly the last time I felt like this supporting the gills was when we won league 2. I'm not sure if I'd equate winning league 1 with winning the wc though. Ask me if I'd rather get promotion to the premier league and it would be a much harder question. I think I'd defo go for the gills then.
Both are once in a generation things. However you get a chance of glory every year with gills. It's only every 2 years with England.

If also add I would probably enjoy gills success more as I've been there through thick and thin with them. So will enjoy the highs because I endured the lows. I cant really say the same with England. I am probably one of those who turns off the pointless tedious qualifiers and falls asleep during them. So im sure there's people who would deserve to enjoy it far more than I.

Can’t we just enjoy them both? It’s not as if they are competing with one another? For me it’s a different feeling as none of my mates support the gills but quite a few do England. It’s good to share the experience. Personaly both give me moments of huge stress and huge pleasure.
