Should Boris step down ?

On one hand, it's clear that he should stand down. On the other, it's clear that this behaviour is how he has always behaved and it was clear that this was his character prior to the election, yet he was voted in. So is there a case to be made that this is exactly the type of PM that England wants the UK to have?

Not really, I think that's a little trite criticism. He was voted in because we wanted out of the EU and by and large has achieved that without all the doomsters being proved right that we would collapse in a heap - there is a lot more to do of course, but then most of us all knew that would be the case.

He's served his purpose, but he's also shown that he loves chucking money around and can almost be (if you almost close your eyes) a liberal-socialist.

We need radical, economy ripping and lower taxation as our key targets now, most will accept we have to pay for the UK governments largesse to get us almost intact through this pandemic - but growth and economic activity is now above pre-pandemic levels - as is employment.

The big evil now will of course be inflation; which is hitting the whole of Europe/the US and that will take a new more detailed set of measures.

He's done his job, he can go now and we can move on to a more 'conventional' PM.

He may weather the storm. He needs to get some people around him to control the peripheral matters. Boris is a big project facilitator who is not good at detail. I like his enthusiasm and vision. He needs to let the voters know his heart is in the right place and yes he does have faults.
Some humility.

Not yet. I agree with your thinking but from an outside perspective he is still needed to deal with the EU. The person that battles the EU for the next 24 months to iron things out will need to be sacrificed to normalize relations down the road. He is the best option.
