They aren't the only championship side who's done this, sure I read Derby and Birmingham have done this too.
 
By all accounts they sold the stadium for a vastly inflated cost and after being investigated are falling foul of the financial fair play rules
 
They were cited for this such a long time ago it could be the EFL want to stretch it into next season ( for all 3 clubs possibly) so to prevent the three appealing the decision that, in Blues and Wednesdays case would probably send them down. I'm sure Wigan are looking on with interest

EFL appeals the decision of an independent panel to another independent panel. They find against the first independent panel, guilty, but basically no change to the outcome.
Crazy. Seemingly, nothing has changed apart from more time and money wasted.
