Sheffield Wed. v Villa, Sat. 24th Feb. 3pm kick off

Pride of Lions

I am now official
Well, we're back on the road again, so Bruce can't use our pitch as an excuse. At the moment, it appears neither Adomah or Grealish will make it so surely Bruce MUST call upon O'hare to add some creative sparkle to our midfield.

Still think we'll struggle (at the moment) but things may improve the closer we get to Saturday. So at the moment I will go for a 1-1 draw...... being optimistic.

What say yous?........

The good run was built on us being tight at the back, but in the last couple of games we've looked vunerable.

Back to basics. Keep a clean sheet. I'd be happy to nick this 1-0

We are going to struggle without Jack and Albert. I see Snoddy went off last night too. Is he alright?

Without most of our attacking players (including Koj) we are going to be a bit blunt and that's not Bruce's fault. However, he has to find a formation and line up that works, even if it's route one (don't go for route one, Steve).

I'd go 4-4-2 with Grabban and Davis and anyone except Onomah in midfield.

Sam
Elmo Chester Terry Hutton
Snoddy Thor Jack Albert
Davies Grabban

If Jack, Albert out I'd have to try to inject some youth. If we need more "metal" tempted to go for Whelan rather than Jedinak but NOT the two of them. Hourihane and Hogan, the double aitches = double hopeless.

From what I've heard Albert is out for a few weeks and Grealish is also unlikely to be fit for Saturday. We really don't have much luck on the injury front do we?! More bad news is that I'm going to the game on Saturday....and as Vital Villans know, I haven't seen an away victory for four bloody years. It's got to end soon hasn't it.....?! :10:

Well Langoe, as we all know too well, all runs come to an end. Hopefully yours does on Saturday.

Travelling up Saturday by car, A38/A61, does anyone know which pubs away fans usually use?

Also going up by car for a change, the football ground guide site has some good information regarding this and nearer the day the WMP Villa Twitter feed will have some info.

Crikey I so hope you're right Pride. Problem is that I've been saying exactly the same for around three and a half years.......you'd have thought by the law of averages and now we are not quite so useless this season, it would come to an end but so far...four games away...lost all four and been completely useless in all of them! Lose Saturday and I think my son will insist once and for all that I don't ever attend an away game again.....! It's a standing joke with family and friends but in all seriousness....four bloody years....it's ridiculous!
:21:

I apologise for my elongated post above...see even when I mention my away form, it ends in a complete and utter disaster! # jinxed! :21:

Yes the Football Ground Guide is very good. I am parking at Meadowhall and getting the tram. There are plenty of bars , food outlets at Meadowhall and when we played Sheff Utd there were a few Villa fans there.

Hopeless Hogan as you've dubbed him has scored 1/3 of our goals in 2018

Just don't leave it too late getting to Meadowhall as they have built an Ikea opposite it and the traffic can be dreadful on a Saturday. Also check the weather as we have snow forecast up here.

Aston Villa's injury issues, dare I say creative crisis, could be worse for Saturday's clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

Yes but probably none when jack hasn’t been playing.

Think part of being tight at the back was giving the opposition too much to think about further up the pitch. Took the pressure off our defence.

We have to really compete upfield. Still think Barney is the best option as DM.

Totally agree. Go for the players with the spark and desire to succeed. If Snoddy can't play then Tuanzebe could play at RB again and push Elmo further forwards (if he's fit), which wouldn't be a bad move but maybe it's time to get RHM showing what he can do. If Davis is injured then Grabban looks to be a useful sort of player. We need a spark in the centre though and O'Hare looks made for it.

Nothing to lose. We won't get anywhere by retreating into our shell.
