Sheffield Utd Vs Aston Villa Tuesday 30th Jan 19:45 Hrs

Yes and let's hope Sheff Utd have a hard game on Saturday as well.
Yes sirdennis, I had forgotten the reason the game was moved, FA Cup tie.
And what a little belter of a tie it is Yorks vs Lanks. It has the potential for being a proper punch up of a game with only three clear days rest.
All to our advantage.

This is a game where we can't afford to go two goals up and then defend, we'll really have to be up for it all game.
Mind you, with Sheff Utd playing what could be a tough game three days earlier, we could have an advantage in the final fifteen minutes.
Tough one to call because of the number of possible variables.

No going 2 goals up would be terrible lol.

We are in good form and playing consistently well now. We really should have no fears about going there.

As with all away games , I will be happy with a draw and be ecstatic if we win.

We should fear nobody at the moment.

A win would send out a statement, and with two very winnable home games coming up, would really cement our promotion challenge and put pressure on the teams around us, especially Derby and Wolves.

2-0 or 2-1 Villa.

:94:

Aston Villa's away trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United later this month has now been selected for the live television treatment.

In corporate for this one, no ripped jeans , trainers or replica shirts etc.
Cuban heels , chinos and a poncho it is then

Clearly a Villa win :94:

Could be a battle royale this one couldn't it? Massive game - or should that be another massive game!?

Win this one and you couldn't really see us not beating Burton or Blues after.

7 wins on the trot?!?! When was the last time that happened? MON days?

Don't get carried away Deano.

I would be delighted with a point next week , we should beat Burton , but with local derbies , form goes out of the window , and anything can happen.

I've just checked.

Last time we won 7 on the trot (or even 6 on the trot) was in the 1989-90 season!!!!

29 years!!!

Would people finally get of Bruce's back if we managed that?

Tue Dec 26 Division 1 Man United Home Won 3-0
Sat Dec 30 Division 1 Arsenal Home Won 2-1
Mon Jan 1 Division 1 Chelsea Away Won 3-0
Sat Jan 13 Division 1 Charlton Ath Away Won 2-0
Sat Jan 20 Division 1 Sthampton Home Won 2-1
Sat Feb 10 Division 1 Sheff Weds Home Won 1-0
Wed Feb 21 Division 1 Spurs Away Won 2-0

Happy days!

:94:

Christ on a bike! Beating ManYoo, Gooners, Chelsea and Spuds and conceding only one goal in those four matches? Obviously they weren't the powers they are these days, but still, pretty impressive.

Then we signed Tony Cascarino and it all went south :19:

:94:

Bizzarely in 1989-90 having smashed our way past United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs we then brought our 7 game winning streak to a halt by losing back to back games against Wimbledon and Coventry!

Annoying feckers even back then.

I'm not getting carried away SirDen but I would be bitterly disappointed if we didn't take 6 points from 2 home games against the divisons bottom 2 sides.

The Sheff United game is the tricky one but i think they are in a false position too. We should beat them.

7 on the trot! Come on boys!
