Skoorb's ratings....

Ederson - 6.5 Not much to do but he did it well
Walker - 6 Solid but still occasionally loose with passes
Otamendi - 7 Managed the threat well and only dived in once
Fernandinho - 8 Always in charge
Laporte - 8 Smooth and silky. We missed him. Took some treatment from the cloggers.
Zinchenko - 6 Some loose passes but managed their attackers well
Rodri - 7 Kept things ticking over. Solid.
De Bruyne - 9 Ran the show. Inch perfect assist.
Mahrez - 6.5 Won the penalty with his quick feet
Sterling - 4 Very poor. One good run and a shot but mostly poor passes and blind alleys
Jesus - 6 Worked hard but fluffed his penalty. Might have done better if the keeper hadn't been 6 feet off his line.

Aguero (for Jesus) - 9 In the right place at the right time. As always.

Garcia (for Laporte) - 6 Solid
Bernardo (for Sterling)- too late to mark.

Only one I disagree with is Ederson. His long distribution was God awful tonight. Hopefully, that's just an anomaly.

'A solid performance'
FT: Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola talking to BT Sport: "It's a difficult place to come, they are so physical and they arrive with a lot of men in the last 18-yard box. It was a solid performance, we only conceded two chances. In the first-half the keeper made two incredible saves.

"We knew that Aymeric couldn't play for 90 minutes, that's why we played five at the back to to protect him a little bit. He's a crucial player for us, we've missed him, it's good for us to have him back.

"Sergio is on fire right now. Strikers need momentum. It's good for us to have strikers in this form.

"I am so happy with the team. I know what it's like to play here, it is a tough tough place. We controlled it well and in the end we created chances to win."

On Gabriel Jesus' missed penalty: "It's part of the game."

'An incredible good victory for us'
FT: Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola talking to Match of the Day: "We knew it would be a difficult place to come. We concede one or two clear chances, nothing more than that. In the first-half the keeper was excellent with the penalty and two incredible saves, it was an incredibly good victory for us to take a step towards securing Champions League football next season.

"In the first-half we were a little bit shy to play, but in the second-half we were a little bit more like we are. But we controlled it really well, the chance to score goals.

"What Sheffield United do, they do it perfectly. They’ve been together for five years so their spirit is so good. They are so good at the second balls and arrive with a lot of people in the final third."

FT: Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker: It says a lot about this club, where they are in the league, they set up well and we found them hard to break down.

It's always good to come back here, I come back and watch when I can but it was important to bounce back from the weekend. I'm grateful for the three points and the clean sheet.

Aymeric [Laporte] is a great player, he's proved that since he came here. This year we need to look at ourselves as a team, rather than individually.
