Shaun Murphy (n/g)

Oh dear oh dear, it's happened again. Today Neil Robertson ranked No1 and defending champion got knocked out by the amateur John Astley 6-2. It's so unfair!!
Incidentally my mate Gerard Greene from Rainham, ranked 100, beat Kurt Maflin No 28 6-3 last night to get through to the 2nd round. Guarantee's him £6,500 even if he loses to Mark King (No 36) in that match. That's a good earner for someone at his ranking.
He used to play above Burtons in Gillingham as a kid. He then moved to the club in Rainham precinct.

Yes I remember that, it was Mick Rogers's club. He was the only player to ever make a 147 maximum break there and had a plaque put up to commemorate it.
He and Barry Hawkins (No 12 in world) both play out of Jordan's club in Rainham now.
