It looks as though the inevitbale is about to happen and the first stage of Sharia Law in the UK is almost upon us.

I find this sort of thing to be quite scary and the suffragettes from yester year must be spinning in their graves.

Fucking outrageous!

We have a law in this country, so now we're going to have a parallel religious law now........ we seem intent on slipping closer and closer to a complete capitulation.....

I had an uncle called Sammy Law and thought Sharia might be one of his extended family members.

Its horrible. We are slipping closer and closer towards this sort of hting but it seems no politician will say anything through a fear of being branded a racist.

Its things like this that will lead to UKIP gaining power in this country.

It's a storm in a tea-cup that in reallity changes nothing. The simple fact is, when you make a will you can leave what you want towho you want with or without giving reason. If you want to cut one of your kids out of your will because they have a big nose then that is your right. This changes nothing, it just encourages Muslims to make use of the legal system that already exists. It's an exercise in drumming up trade.

Won't affect my life in any way, shape, or form. So I can't be bothered to get worked up about it.

Can you categorically state that the UK law will override the Sharia law in disputes? Do you also think it acceptable that females are refused equality in legal documents?

In my opinion religion has no place in law.

I agree with you 100% but all this is doing is acknowledging the already existing right to leave what you want and to whom. If my parents decide to leave all their money to one of my sisters at the expence of the rsst of us then that is their righf according to UK law. Not the same in Norway mind where children have a legal right to inherrit.

People keep turning a blind eye to this sort of thing and slowly Sharia Law will become more and more of a part of English culture, law and society.

Sometimes Clive you can be a right Tit! lol :17:

UK law should be paramount. If Sharia coincides with British Law then no problem but If that is the case then I can't see why this should become an issue. Redundant argument. More worrying for me is the notion of European Law taking precedence over UK Law.

Did you actually think to check what a Sharia compliant Will entails before jumping off the cliff edge in protest?

http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/news/press-releases/law-society-publishes-practice-note-on-sharia-wills-and-inheritance-rules/

Clients in England and Wales can legally choose to bequeath their assets according to Sharia rules, providing the will is signed in accordance with the requirements set out in the Wills Act 1837.

British rules apply, this is just a tweak to help Solicitors understand the intricacies involved. This sort of propaganda is what's causing the problem, not the Law itself. Get a grip.

Sharia Law is already being used in a few parts of Britain where we see majority Muslim communities - the police and we tend to just turn a blind eye.

There was a documentary on this subject some time ago as the EDL wanted to march through a couple of these areas, as they disagree with these communities that basically live by their own laws. I cant remember the areas now, I think Tower Hamlets was one of them.

Not sure what the future holds to be honest, as our governments are more interested in gaining votes. These Muslim areas where sharia law is common are usually quietly ok'd. We cant be upsetting these communities as its just not worth it - costs too much on the whole etc and we need the votes.

We go on about equal rights and such - yet many of the women in these communities are not being treated equal in my humble. Maybe the French have the right idea in banning the Hijab and it may filter down "eventually" towards better treatment for women in such communities?

I suppose "one day" it will all kick off and at the moment we are just looking at the very early stages of civil unrest. Maybe political parties like UKIP will in time gain a lot more supporters, who knows?

I also dont think you can compare this situation with the 50's, 60's and 70's where we seen Black people have their own communities and it took a little time for integration to occur. This because with the majority of the Muslim community we are talking about a religion(Islam) and way of life which prohibits integration...So when looking at such its hard to see how peace will eventually prevail.

What absolute nonsense. The vast majority of Muslims have integrated just fine. You do talk some crap. I suppose it all comes from the Daily Mail?
