Set pieces

Seems a long time since we had anyone who could pick up the ball and you'd think we'd have a squeak of a goal on the edge of the box , Reid , Mcgugan & Earnshaw i can't think of too many others since then .
Bloody hell we were spoiled with the likes of Pearce , Metgod & PVH from dead balls.

We’re second bottom of the league for set pieces xG.

This is one of the things that mystifies me about Dyche: the traits he’s supposed to be good at (set piece work, defensive resolve) we’re just not seeing, game after game.

What is going on?
Now this is an xG-related stat I can easily believe. It's absolutely pathetic. I always thought bad corners should be fined. It's like a golfer never getting close to the fairway, or a darts player missing the board.

To be fair, our defence is on the whole a lot better since he came in. Last night was horrific though.

Sangare is our best hope on the edge of the box these days. Not saying much, is it.

Just watching the FA cup coverage and that Reed guy at Mansfield is a player who can both score shots from outside the box and take dangerous free kicks.

Maybe we should just buy him to stick him on with 10 minutes left so at least we have one player who can do that stuff.

Imagine having a player who can hit the target from further out than 8 yards!

Also did anyone see Douglas Luiz's assist from a free kick for Villa yesterday?

Yep. Clear offside. Then he got booked and then an own goal.
Wasn't all good.

Neco should take them and leave Anderson back also Savona is tall and shown he can score so get him in as well and move MGW back as well.

I said before but his total inability to take any kind of set piece & his constant giving the ball away is why MGW won’t play for Ingerland

The major finally got my message from the 29th of December across to VP

My word I know my onionz and thanks to the major we got the message across

Honestly goes to show how outrageous this season has been that we’ve persisted with Anderson on set pieces all season who produces nothing. We change it to Neco for one game and we score and looked capable from them all game.

I started this thread cus I said it was negligent how we treat set pieces.

VP has made us better in both boxes

Yes & prior to Anderson we wasted ages with MGW on them with similar results & unbelievably he still gets to take them if they are in a shooting position

God bless the major and this is why Neco will win player of the season especially when he has Wood to aim at

Think Netz is a decent crosser and deadball player. Not sure of his shooting abilities but being German am sure he can score from 12 yards.
