I don't think they stop you catching it at all (unless they are proper PPE). I think they stop you spreading it.

Very nice, nitram. But should these things be driven/ridden on the roads or the pavements.

As a driver I find them to be a potentially dangerous slow moving obstacle but as a pedestrian I find them to be a potentially dangerous fast moving object!
