I think we were all expecting better this season, though it is only 4 games gone, and were baffled by the retention of midfield who had "underperformed " last season. Perhaps Owen Hampson was seen as the necessary improvement to midfield but his lack of availability has frustrated those plans? Of course Pools do have history of signing players with extensive injury issues (Luke Williams, Mancini, etc) can only hope mistakes aren't being repeated.I totally expected us to be top three, behind Southend & Carlisle. We will be in the top seven.
My opinions are well documented in other threads, rollercoaster ride, midfield issues & re-signing players who weren’t previously good enough last term. Unfortunately same issues exist, specifically in the midfield, rinse & repeat.
Not sure how Clark is going to go about his business but for me it’s ‘fingers burned, lessons learned’. We seem to see the issues from the stands, repeating from last term, it’s what he decides to do.
There won’t be any knee-jerk reactions from the owner, I don’t believe, let’s see how Clark reacts.
