Sean Dyche appointed

Kind of a brutal takedown but we all know its true.

532 crosses.
5 goals.

Its like no-one is even bothering to watch the team and see what needs improving.

You don't blame a £400m squad for that, its on the manager I'm afraid. I've been fully behind Dyche and I still am because I love Woan and Stone but at some point it becomes a serious "What the actual fuck?" situation.

Read that earlier and it’s pretty grim. Not all of Dyche’s making though in fairness.

The article is behind a pay-wall, but if I assume the gist is that he only has one way of playing, no subtleties or tactical acumen to change plan, then I will likely agree.
I dont think he will be here on June 1st, and although I like him, and love Woan and Stone, I dont think he will get us to mid table, or win the EL to save his job.

April as I mentioned the other day, should be the time EM starts to formulate plans around our next manager and DoF. If by some holy miracle we could get Ross Wilson back, and fire Edu, that would be a start..!!

I’ve always been supportive of Dyche for obvious reasons. I think we will stay up, but have become increasingly concerned about the apparent lack of a plan B. I don’t want to get to October fighting relegation again and looking for another manager. Pick the phone up for Glasner. I appreciate some may have changed their tune since his outburst.
I think he got to the point where none of the background talks were getting him anywhere. Imagine Dyche being told that the club were selling Murillo the day before a match.
If Glasner is available now, get him in.

You are not missing much by not getting access to the article; its just a pile of meaningless numbers being quoted, in the main, out of context.

Ross Wilson left of his own accord; the chances of him coming back are less than remote; what happens with Edu is anyones guess - I would guess he will be around next season.

He cannot hold a position like that and be a complete idiot; he will know the pressure is on and it will be interesting to see how he reacts.

Dyche is only on an 18 Month contract and I would guess his job safety is inextricably linked to whatever Marco Silva does, although it is not an absolute certainty he comes here if he does leave Fulham.

There will be plenty of offers on the table for him, one of which may prove more attractive.

The managerial situation could prove to be a big problem for us as far as Summers recruitment goes; the longer the uncertainty drags on the longer the recruitment team will take to draw up their lists

I wasn’t aware of the 18 month contract. It could well be that EM is trying to avoid paying off another manager . . . OR he was only ever meant to be a short termist fix it to keep us up. (Typing that, auto correct typed the word termite 🤔🤔).
We need to be having discussions now. By June 1st, we need to have a manager in place, who will see out the next season, suits the players we have at our disposal and move us forwards. I’m pretty sure EM will take a similar view.

Glasner? Lol.
He's paddled around in the shallow end enough now, and in here he's proven himself to be classed as elite.
He'll be at a big 6 team next.

I think we all knew at the time, Dyche was an appointment for where we are, but not where we want to be. Marinakis didn't see Dyche as long-term, and Dyche knows he's got this season to exceed expectations to stay in the job and prove he can take Forest forward.
Which we all know he can't.

There's a lot of top name managers available this summer which would be attractive to these clubs, possibly over Silva, Glasner and Iraola..

Tuchel, Ancelotti, Nagelsmann, Alonso, and then how many of the 'top 6' are looking for managers ...

United, possibly Spurs, possibly Liverpool. If Howe were to leave Newcastle, then he would be in that mix. Add De Zerbi if anyone is crazy to hire him,,

My point is that Iraola or Silva 'could possibly' see Forest as their next ambitious step provided we survive and sort our shit out behind the scenes. Of course I haven't included big euro teams who would attract Glaser and Iraola and Silva, but focusing on the PL, I dont see too many clubs with ambitious owners like EM. We have massive potential despite fucking it all up this summer to reset and go again.

The key for me is getting aligned behind the scenes with our next manager and DoF and ensuring our recruitment is solid, as we will be losing Anderson and likely one of Murillo and MGW

"Kind of a brutal takedown but we all know its true.

The one major problem with that is it is not true; not remotely true.

It is another, in a long list of examples, of a "Data" expert taking disparate numbers and then spinning them into a piece of creative writing.

In the 14 league games since Dyche took over we have made 323 crosses, with an accuracy rate of 19% and scored 5 goals, which as a stand alone statistic is poor.

Compare that with Nuno's last 14 games in charge and we have 285 crosses, at an accuracy rate of 18%, scoring 6 goals from crosses, which is hardly a siesmic change.

And then we have good owd Ange with 5 games, 122 crosses at an accuracy rate of 19% and 1 goal to show.

Those figures come from Opta so they are most probably a pile of shite.

The problem was there before Dyche arrived, and it must be noted that, unlike his predecessors, he has not been able to avail of the services of Chris Wood, which would count for a lot in the big scheme of things.

You are doing the very same you criticise the stats for.
When Nuno came in, let's take the defeat away at Brentford as an example of his team:

Turner
Montiel, Amobomedele, Tavares, Murillo
Mangala, Danilo, Dominguez, Yates
CHO, Wood

Swap out MGW and Elanga we are near standard team for Nuno's arrival.
Compare that to the talent Dyche has to work with.

No I am not, I was merely highlighting:

1. The article was a pile of shite and the numbers quoted did not stack up - how can you question something without fact checking it?

2. The problem was there before Dyche arrived.

I compared a period in Nuno's reign were he had a simlar squad to what Dyche has. Sels, Aina, Williams, Murillo, Malenkovic, MGW, Anderson, CHO and Dominguez all featured regularly for both - Dych has missed Wood and Elanga and Nuno has missed Ndoye and Hutchinson.

Why are you comparing Nuno's last 14 games? Have you only used this dataset to support your point? It reeks that you have.
Similar to Pope omitting Jesus' cup goals from his record.

Because that was the number of games Dyche has been in charge, so 14 seemed like a reasonable comparison.

Is that too many or too little?
