Sean Dyche appointed

Doesnt mean they wont for the right price.

I like fin's logic on this one.
The right price is probably beyond what we have available.

Plus, associated party transactions have to be at fair market value, otherwise UEFA may not ratify the deal and hold the player's registration.

So, say we're Rio Ave and our best player is being touted for transfer in January.
Its a sellers market for various reasons, but say a deal is possible...what is fair for a player scoring buckets in a farmers league at 26 years old?

Coming into his prime, bagging a few in a league just above championship level?I reckon you're starting at £20m, and then add in 50% for the various taxes it being mid-season.

Are we really gonna spunk £30m+ when our PSR is already fucked?

If there was any semblance of truth behind this - save for Fin logic - we'd likely need to get shot of Kalimuendo as too Awoniyi to keep the pathway clear for old man Clayton given Wood will hopefully return before the end of the season.

This is all about nothing BG. We’re debating whether Kali, Taiwo or McAtee are going to be loaned or sold.

If they are, who could we get? I’m merely looking at quick and obvious scenarios which doesn’t mean anything other than logic. We may not be interest in him
I looked at his clips and would rather we keep Kali to be honest

EM sold Kostoulas to Brighton, so he would sell to us anyone if it makes sense and fair market value

I don't think Rio Ave would sell their most important player mid-season.

Same as us. Same as Olympiacos. Same as everyone.

Its a non-starter, bud.

I think 20m is over priced. He's completely untested at this level. All of these types of deals where player moves up a level are better structured as low initial price with significant add ons for performance i.e. mgw deal.

If this is pure conjecture, then my take is Rio Ave would want a much higher fee to lose their best player in January.

£30m+ or deal off, chap!

Could understand him not wanting to change anything on Saturday on the basis if he it ain't broke etc. subs might have upset the equilibrium, but with hindsight may have been better to make a few subs earlier as players started to run out of a bit of gas.

What did baffle me however was the introduction of Taiwo who offers little if any threat at all when he has / had other other perhaps better options on the bench. Might have been interesting to see Kali playing off Jesus for 10 - 15 minutes even if it was just to see if there might be any mileage in it for the future.

I actually thought the lack of subs was unbelievably poor management and I couldn’t believe he didn’t make any. CHO was looking at the bench almost waiting for his number to come up and it never did. It was like playing with 10 men with him on for those last 15 minutes and it’s no coincidence that we lost all foothold in the game.

He had a ready made replacement in Bakwa who could have stretched city and push them back 10 yards, but for reasons only known to Dyche, he didn’t make it. It doesn’t even matter if he likes Bakwa long term or not - it just needed a different body there.

I also said similar to Strett after the Fulham game - he’s clearly very good at organising a defence and creating structure, but all his interviews point to him having very little to offer in terms of patterns of play and creativity - his mantra appears to be ‘get the ball to the creative players and then over to you to do the rest lads’.. against equally disciplined organised teams, that ain’t gonna work.

I think he’ll just about do a job this season in keeping us up, but we’ll go out of Europe and finish lower mid table at best. That unfortunately sends the club back two seasons because this was the year we had Murillo, Anderson, MGW amongst other highly talented players and we most certainly won’t have probably 2 of those next year. We’ve completely wasted a huge opportunity with a squad that has hugely underperformed. Not for a minute blaming all that on Dyche, but it’s a culmination of poor decisions that led us to this situation. Such a shame.

Totally agree with the last bit. Nuno walking probably fooked it anyway but the 39 day poglu nonsense was the fatal blow imo maranakis managed to turn a crisis into a catastrophe. His first real costly mistake. That it was completely avoidable and forseen by 90% of fans beforehand makes it worse. Good job its his money he is wasting. Its a blot in his copy book, which is a shame given everything he has done for us.

It pains me to say this but the bloke is now starting to move into the clueless category.
Cannot change and adapt to the on-field situation. Persisting with Taiwo!!!!

Change the tactics, FFS. All subs were like-for-like. Go three at the back for example. It's not like he doesn't know Everton.

Their two centre halves are in QMC this morning for MRI scans because we kept putting he ball on their heads!

i actually think milenkovic would be more effective upfront than jesus and taiwo.
Taiwo lacks sharpness.

He potentially could have had a hat trick in 30 mins yesterday - that's a stretch as two of them would have had to be really great poachers goals, but the other was nearly a tap in.

Contrast with Jesus he was in position for only one chance that I remember and he was facing the wrong way.

Taiwo is a proper striker, Jesus is more a wing-forward, constantly wanting to go out wide. Jesus works in a 2 or a front three. Taiwo has the centre forward's instinct of where to be, and we saw that yesterday. Just rusty.

The problem with Awoniyi is that he is always rusty, because he always gets injured again before he gets back his match sharpness and you are always managing his minutes

Taiwo is a woeful, useless, pathetic football player

You must have been watching a game from 2.5 years ago if you think or thought this useless lump could score a hattrick

The problem with taiwo isn’t that he’s rusty. It’s that he’s shit

No, I was watching a game in the Trent End with him literally playing a few yards in front of me

I was a few yard from you and people around me were laughing at his incompetence.
We have Kali on the bench who ripped it up last season in the French Prem, who is now courted by other top European teams.

This was on Dyche yesterday, he is being stubborn with wanting a big man up front, as he only knows one way of playing.

I agree with you about Jesus, he looks more like a #10 to me than a #9, but Taiwo over Kali? Never.

RUSTY??
It's the shagging Premier League. We are without Wood for the foreseeable and if he thinks Taiwo is the answer then we're proper fooked.

The most talented new signings from the summer want out because they are being asked to play a football style that is alien to them, whilst at the same time picking a striker in front of them, who is unsure which foot is which.

In that case I would expect Elliot to have a good understanding with any extra terrestial chap.
