Sean Dyche appointed

Pope John XXIII

Vital Football Legend
A big welcome to Sean Dyche, who has arrived for his first training session. Agreed Sunday night, announcement presumably delayed out of respect to the Pearce family.

Best squad he has worked with and I will be fascinated to see how he does and approaches things with the remit of "we want a top half finish and a push for Europe". I don't think he has ever been asked to deliver that before. He has certainly won promotion though - twice with Burnley - so he knows how to go about winning the majority of games.

A lot to do and a lot of players to sort, some chaos to quell, but he has the players and the resources. Over to you now, Sean

And officially announced now

Not sure I'm actually that keen on this bit:

Dyche has built teams defined by defensive organisation, resilience, and strength from set pieces —qualities that align closely with the current squad’s attributes and the Club’s footballing identity.

I wouldn't put "set pieces" as part of Forest's identity at all. I would want us to focus on maximising them, not depending on them.

See he has brought his boots.

Season starts now

Lets all get FULLY behind him

Give him every chance of success

Celebrate the positives and dont go too hard on any negatives.

Especially early on

We need to start enjoying what we have and where we are more as a club
I think the ground will be buzzing for Porto now. Stone and Woan in, some confidence in the defence, etc.

Problem is, he needs a win ASAP, just because it's been 2 months and the last guy (sick of typing out that name) didn't get one.

Its a tall order in the next three- he's going to have to win a game we wouldn't really expect to win.

He will have my full backing for as long as it takes, as he has more than proven himself

Can't wait to hear a press conference where the Forest manager talks about Forest and doesn't need to look down at the badge on their jacket to remember what club they are in charge of

At his previous club before Forest, in the league (Everton) Dyche played 74, won 18 and lost 31.
At his previous club before Forest, in the league (Spurs) Ange played 76, won 31 and lost 34.

I hope we haven't jumped out of a frying pan into a fire here.

Pleased with this. Gerrem sorted Dychey lad.

I think there’ll be a roof raising reception (no alliteration intended) for him on Thursday. Hopefully the players will feed off this.

This is the right appointment for me, I am hoping he brings a blend of an ability to reinstate the identity and connection that Cooper did such a good job creating and also his experience and know how to get the basics right, a settled first 11 and ultimately make the team greater than the sum of its parts.

This will be fascinating and I feel like a weight has been lifted.

Huge amount of work to do though.

Comparing Apples and Oranges though Strett.

Spurs are a perennial top 6/8 club, Everton didn’t have a pot to piss in during Dyche’s tenure.

You keep trotting out this stat, without seeming to realise that you are admitting that the manager of Spurs, the 9th richest club on the planet, lost more games than Everton, who were battling relegation for 18 months before he even started and made a £30m-£40m net profit on transfers in every summer he was there, including the one before he started?

Bournemouth had even less of a pot than both, but a good manager.
Not having that I'm afraid.
