I think SL could be wrong according to Sheffield Wednesday search he has not been allocated a squad number for this season
 
A Wednesday fan I bumped into on holiday and got talking to yesterday said he still hadn’t signed. The fan said he was very disappointed by it as he looked very good for them when returning from us last season.
 
Shame, as he spoke very highly of his time with us and sounded as though he was looking forward to coming back.
 
Am I right in thinking that as Wednesday have offered him a contract they are entitled to compensation if he moves on to another club?
 
They would be entitled to a development fee (basically a transfer fee) for him as he is under 24, providing he wasn't released by them and they offered him new terms equal to or better than his last contract.
 
Its a strange story this. So many big clubs (Everton, Villa, Celtic, Rangers) rumored to be interested yet he has played so very few games at championship level.

I think he needs a strong season at the championship to get a decent move to a big club (to be fair Scottish Premier is a far lower standard so he could go there)

Adam Rooney dropped from the Scottish Premier to the National league.
Figure that one out ?
