When I first moved from Lincoln to Peterborough in 1971, the first time I went into a chip shop and asked for 'chips with scrumps' I was given the weirdest look!

That's the same look you get in Grimsby if you're foolish enough to ask for Cod instead of Haddock.

Nah Sweetheart , know as scraps in good old Bromley , defo in Orpington . used to go a treat with a wally (gherkin) for the uninitiated .

Liam hasn’t been getting a lot wrong since his time in Lincoln, but this is one. 100% scrumps, probably see a few scraps in the pubs on the way past to get your scrumps.
