Score Predictions & Match Thread: Newport County v Tranmere Rovers

Congratulations to Tranmere, hard luck Newport. Have to say, hard to believe the CB pairing of Monthe & McNulty will hack it in L1, though they are obviously experienced & read the game well, just not the most athletic looking footballers ?

Yes I think I was more mobile when I dozed off midway through the first half!

Will be interested to see how tranmere do in l1, as they have basically done what was deemed too soon for us to do last season.

Last year division 4 was very poor so not that difficult to get out of,DC said the same when interviewed earlier.

Grandad united minus Norwood, it will be difficult to succeed in L1. for Tranmere,so possible mid table but safe.

Mellon is a very decent manager and his win percentage numbers are also good
DC =52.4, Mellon=48.91 plus Mellon`s cv is ace......keep an eye on him Clive.

Surely it's WBA that should have their eye on Mr Mellon!

Interesting combination of pundits today, Danny and Ryan Lowe, he perhaps got paid for that one, Ryan, not Danny !

Thing about Mellon is that he gets his team to be practically invincible in the second half of the season. We only went up in 2017 because of a quirk of the fixture list - played them tice before xmas!

They won`t appoint a manager from the lower realms of the EFL it will more than likely be some foreign sounding lad who will keep the hot seat warm for 6 months then some journeyman manager like Moyes will arrive and the WBA roundabout keeps moving.
Personally wouldn`t give Moyes a job in a chippy.

Newport unlucky not to have had 2 penalties in those highlights. Would have stopped O'Brien being sent off too. Good on O'Brien for not reacting to Norwood getting in his face.

Well, we were very lucky to go up, then.
