Score Predictions & Match Thread: Newport County v Tranmere Rovers

BBC clearly want Newport to win based upon the amount of articles on the website about them compared to Tranmere

Going for a 1-0 win to Tranmere with a Norwood goal

Tranmere, simply for the good natured rivalry we've had recently (I would have said Mansfield had they made it this far, to give us a local game).

Thought Newport looked very strong against Mansfield and should have won it in normal time, plus they're a good cup team which should stand them in good stead.

Tranmere on the other hand looked tired against FGR and only edged through despite playing over half the tie against ten men.

It's all on the day, but Newport for me.

Newport deserve it - to have enjoyed two excellent cup runs in the last two seasons and made the play-offs on a bottom four budget is incredible.

Both teams would struggle next season in League One - Newport because of that budget and Tranmere because I think promotion this season is too early for them. Take Norwood out of that team - which someone is about to do - they have very little left.

Incidentally, does anyone remember playing Benfica B in Portugal prior to the start of the 2017-18 season? Jordan Maguire-Who put us ahead early on with a false dawn cracker before a 17-year-old striker scored a hat-trick to win the game 3-1. That striker was called Joao Felix, and he has just been called up by Portugal for the Nations League finals next month after scoring or assisting in 31 goals in his debut season for Benfica's first team. He also scored a hat-trick in a Europa League quarter-final two months ago, and Manchester United and Manchester City have been told they will need to pay over £100m if they want to sign him.

Flynn done a great job down there and if they win today then expect him to be linked with the WBA vacancy!
Mellon attempting to match DC with successive promotions.

There were 45 shots in the Mansfield v Newport second leg without a goal; there have been 18 so far today, meaning there have been 63 shots in Newport's last game and a half without a goal. Amazing.
