Scary times

Well, as predicted Russian forces are basically shelling every city in range. I see the media haven't covered that massive convoy much recently, probably because it slowly getting the job done of bringing up tons and tons of artillery ammunition...

A very simplistic take but a good beginner's guide as to the issues and psyche required for Putin to be deposed, in the opinion of one person.

Sadly whilst the chances have risen from virtually zero, the author still feels/explains why it is very unlikely.

Could Putin actually fall? (msn.com)

Background of the author for context:

Zack Beauchamp Profile and Activity - Vox

Vox online is left of centre/progressive, but in spite of that :grinning: the piece still provides some basic insight and raises some interesting points.

Let's be clear, we're only seeing the Ukranian side of the story right now..

A good watch below on a bit more balance
Being honest we won't know anything like the truth until the dust has settled and this conflict is fully over. Furthermore, such is Putin's disregard for all life we can expect that he will just keep throwing resources at the invasion until he achieves what he intends to militarily.

This war won't be successfully prosecuted against Putin on the battlefield, it will have to come from other means; a combination of sanctions, insurrection on his home front or even some sort of compromised agreement on territory and NATO etc.

For those who somehow thought the Russians would be holding back from levelling cities if they couldn't be taken by a rush

However it is said, it boils down to Putin is a mass murderer. Whatever happens to him hereafter, he should never be able to travel outside Russia again without worrying who or what is coming for him.

Anyone now hopeful that Putin will be overthrown after the devastation they have wrought in Ukraine?

No, I reckon not...

It's a messed up world where European countries are providing arms to Ukraine at the same time as (purportedly) increasing their financial commitment to Russia; in spite of supposed sanctions.

At least the UK finances going to Russia are heading in the right direction which is more than can be said for many of Ukraine's other European allies.

Perhaps 'orange man bad' had an extremely salient point when he very publicly lambasted Europe and especially Germany a couple of years ago for their over reliance on Russian energy and they very publicly laughed and sneered when he did so.

until they stop using Russian gas/oil the semi shift to other suppliers only adds to the demand and therefore price increase. The profit made by Russia has increased which has plugged the gap in the fall of revenue.

Putin needs to hurry up and die with a hope that whoever takes over withdraws. I have no idea how likely that is or if he will just hand over to another crazy.

There are too many second & third division EU states who can’t afford to not use Russian energy. The germans have made their own mess by shutting down the nuclear stations too quickly without replacing them.

Fair play to the French they don’t piss about. EPR 2 is a massive build programme that will no doubt utilise the entire capacity of the nuclear industry supply chain.
