Tonight's (Wednesday) game against Dundee has been postponed due to the weather warnings in place by the MET Office on account of the snow. Really it's great for us though! This allows our players to get back fit or to be even more ready for the weekend's game against Greenock in the Scottish Cup.

Lustig is now likely to miss the Rangers game after his red card last weekend, he would have been back from suspension had the Dundee game been on but as it's postponed, that means he will start his suspension a game later. Anthony Ralston has been back in training so it will be interesting to see if he's brought back in against Morton or at least on from the bench so he can be given some time to be ready before the Rangers game.
The alternative is that we continue with a 3 at the back but that isn't always working at the moment, it depends how teams are setting up against us so it's good to have alternatives or flexibility.

It was expected that Ajer would miss the Dundee game with a swollen eye after being battered by Aberdeen last weekend. With Lustig also out, it seemed as though it was going to be Hendry in for Lustig on the right of a back 3 and Marvin Compper would return on the left of the back 3 in place of Ajer. Alternatively Tierney could have filled in if we didn't want to risk Compper. It would mean that Sinclair or Musonda may have had to play more of a wing back role which isn't really their thing, but there is always the option of Calvin Miller as well. He's well suited to that role and I don't think I've ever seen him and Tierney play at the same time.

Elsewhere, Roberts is ready to make his return to the team but unfortunately Armstrong and Griffiths are going to be out for a bit longer than initially expected.

The game against Morton should hopefully be a chance for a few of the fringe/returning players to play. It could still be too soon for Ralston but this is a game where we should see Compper and Roberts and possibly a bit more of Kouassi and Miller too. Musonda may get a start and be allowed to show what he can do, giving Forrest or Sinclair a bit of rest while up front it's a toss up between Dembele and Edouard. Rogic may continue his return from injury.

Celtic: de Vries, Ajer, Compper, Simunovic, Tierney, Brown, Ntcham, Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair, Dembele

subs: Roberts, Edouard, Lustig, Bain, McGregor, Musonda, Kouassi

HT 0-0

Not great watching. Doing the same things over and over again but clueless (yet again) against a packed defence. KT's corners have been woeful, Ntcham off the pace and Sinclair with another anonymous performance.

And Moussa hits it! He seems to have found his boots. Also good to see him win the penalty by charging into the box up the middle. We're always trying to come in from out wide. We have the talent to go right at the opposition.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more goals. We need to start putting a stamp on these competitions.

Excellent second half. First half was pretty limp, but teams like Greencock do thrown men behind the ball.

Improved 2nd half, Dembele brace, into the semis...

Edouard and Dembele linked up well 2nd half but neither are close to full sharpness.

Compper strolled it. Being two-footed adds another dimension at the back.

Ntcham's FK's are honking. He was poor today in general. Need to get someone else on FK duty!

I thought Edouard was brilliant in that second half. He showed for the ball, made things happen, moved well. Dembele was trying but couldn't do it alone in a cramped defence and Sinclair was all but useless where he was being played in that first half.

Broony was a bit off the pace in the first half, passes being played to him but he was too busy thinking of something else and let the balls just run past him thinking they were going to another player.....but there wasn't enough pace on the ball. Nearly got us in trouble a few times.

Agree about Ntcham, not a good performance today, needed more energy from him to get beyond the midfield, he sat too deep almost alongside Brown most of the time and it simply wasn't required.

There simply wasn't enough penetration in the first half! Rodgers made the changes and it worked 2nd half!

We will play The Rangers in the semi-finals after they beat Falkirk 4-1 on Sunday. I watched the game, Falkirk played better than Morton did against us, there was just some AWFUL defending at times whereas Morton have the best defence in the Championship and that showed with how long it took for us to break them down. Rangers were pretty quick going forward especially with Windass driving forward from midfield and Jason Cummings played well too.
Their star man Morelos was fairly useless once again, he doesn't worry me. Ideally we can't go with a back 3 against Rangers though as they play with a front 3 of Morelos, Cummings and Candeias and then Windass pushing forward from midfield. Then they'll have 2 sitting midfielders and a back 4. If we continue with going 3 at the back, we could leave ourselves open to being picked off on a counter attack. Our problem is that Lustig is out this weekend, so do we throw Ralston back in? Bring in Gamboa? Or the more likely scenario may be that Hendry comes in and effectively plays as a RB but is unlikely to get forward much, instead concentrating getting forward down our left side.
