The worst possible news for this young man although it does say ‘damaged’ and not ‘torn’.

This season is a likely to be a bust & any move to Bayern now has to be unlikely.

Manchester City FC can confirm that Leroy Sane has damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The flying winger picked up an injury in the opening stages of City’s Community Shield triumph over Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

He has undergone testing throughout the week, with a specialist doctor travelling to Manchester for further examinations to understand the extent of the injury.

Leroy will have surgery in the coming week. Manchester City will provide Leroy with all the support and guidance he needs, and everyone connected with the Club wishes him a quick and full recovery.

Well that f-ing sucks. Alexander-Arnold-Smith-Jones-Johnson is due one. He'd better watch his back.:censor::mad::dev:
 
A-A is indeed partly responsible- his shove on Leroy’s shoulder (not legal) caused Sané to lose his footing and that’s when the knee twisted.

The now deleted Liverpool tweet just illustrates what cheap, low life, pond scum they are at that club. :censor::punch:
 
I hope not. We’ll have to await the results of the exploratory operation - I expec the “specialist” flying into perform this will be Dr Cugat, Pep’s ‘go to’ guy for knee ops.

I'm imagining the footie Gods got fed up with not knowing what was going on and took it upon themselves to make a decision for all concerned. Presumably the overtures emitting from Munchen will now die down, hopefully Sane will say to them 'you didn't want me when I was crooked so why do you want me now?'

Think we will miss him, gives us something we don't otherwise have. The only positive being that Mendy might prosper in his absence although for that to happen he will have to actually be fit. So probably not a positive at all.

Do you think AA did it hoping something like this might happen - similar to Ramos' assault on Salah in the CL final a couple of years ago?

PERISIC UPDATE
Sky in Italy say Bayern Munich are close to signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
The two sides are finalising an agreement which will see the player move initially on loan with an option to buy in a deal worth £23.5m.

Welcome Ivan, bad luck Leroy, Bayern move on.
