Sagna tweet & the FA

Social media is a pain in the ar*e and players would do well to stay clear when venting their thoughts.

I **cking detest Twitter :017:

Bacary Sagna asked to explain Instagram post by FA and could face action

Another suspension looming?

City Watch seem to think a fine and/or a warning. I would be claiming a typo and make sure I kept a straight face.

Then the City hierarchy should close his Twitter account

I used the 10 v 12 in this mornings article - funny how we both used the same description.

Social media, i'm afraid Skoorb is here to stay, I mean just look at Donald Trump and his election campaign via Twitter. It probably won him the race to the White House.

Good on him I say, the issue we've been railing against has been highlighted by one of our players.

Sagna can just say he was referring to Burnley's amazing travelling support.

Good one BD - that's an even better response :026:

If it is a reflection of the mood in the dressing room perhaps it can galvanise them into the sort of siege mentality which has been used to good effect elsewhere. Probably a good idea that Pep doesn't tweet!

I know what you are saying Tudor but it does mean people can get themselves in hot water before they engage their brains.

Trawl back through the MDT and you will find I said it was 10 v 12, so if was likely my fault.

The email address is below. You can present yourself as the chief witness for the defence :071:

How come players Managers etc have to account for what they say and referees don 't have to account for their actions or give explanations, if they did it would ease the tension, no-one will get upset if they come out and say I got that one wrong or I wasn't looking when Vokes elbowed Bravo (see shot by BD re this one )

We accept that they only get one look at things, but please
MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE,

No surprise whatsoever.

"Bacary Sagna: Man City defender fails in appeal against fine for Instagram post"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38848247

The priorities of the football authorities has been shown to be totally twisted out of shape ever since UEFA fined Bendtner £80,000 for exposing his sponsored undershorts but only fined Porto £16,000 for racial abuse hurled at Mario Balotelli in 2012 (which, incidentally, was £8,000 less than City were fined for being late out onto the pitch for the second half against Sporting Lisbon that same year).

These may be UEFA examples but the same principle applies to the FA.
