Sadly I've Just Had To Ban James06

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
sadly I've just had to ban James06

He pm'd me to ask if I was looking forward to Christmas.

It's about time. We should start a regular banning voted for by the members. Something like Survivor. Once a week we fuck someone out.

Did I post too much?

Didn't I post enough?

Should I have posted more funny things?

Will they see me as a threat because I posted too many funny things.

It is sad about Jimbo, though. RIP, big fella.

Fear replied to my PM, with a 4 paragraph essay detailing everything from his new xmas boxers he's saving for xmas eve, to the marks and spencers sausage rolls he's putting out for the neighbours to raise some festive cheer throughout the street.

He probably wont be on the forum for the rest of today though as he's down at the village green putting the lights on the tree, before the church carol service then taking the sleigh round the streets giving out pressies to all the kids.

I tried to ring him earlier but he couldnt hear me over his Nat King Cole CD blasting out.

Bless him.

If he bans you Jim,let us know and we`ll pop round his pad in the early hours and plant half a dozen Christmas trees in his garden, with big illuminated signs inviting all the village round on Christmas day for mince pies and a glass of sherry. Then we`ll deliver the invites by hand through all the doors, promising all the kids a present and to ensure they come early,ie 6am,as Father Fear has a lot of people to visit during the day.
I can get hold of a few sheep and we`ll build a little manger by the trees ,then we`ll put the biggest, brightest Christmas lights you`ve ever seen, all round his house.

:14: :180: Couldn't resist dude be careful them cristhmas ghosts don't pay you a visit i think one looks like BB you know? :17:

In the interests of accuracy, I don't think Fear lives in a village (unless Brummies class Redditch as such). I'm going to suggest to the Town Council that as he is one of their most prominent and successful residents he ought to be invited to switch on the Christmas lights in the Kingfisher Centre next year.

I can just see Fear handing in some crimbo prezzie's at Acorns and smiling as he leaves the place,he luvs crimbo really i reckon i think a load us Villans turning up to sing silent night in a choir in our Villa tops can just imagine him smiling away and clapping us before he chucks some water out the window that is ;)

Yes... 'Water'

Special water that I've saved up for a while.... Ahem!!

:91:

I do enter into the spirit of Christmas a little bit though. I have prepared for the kids doing Christmas carols for instance.

Aye, I've bought a werewolf mask and a massive loud foghorn, that should scare the little *******s away!!!! :3:

I heard you bought that at Halloween :10:

Although I know this is a joke I really wish fans of Christmas were a little more sensitive to those who find the whole thing stressful and miserable.

It would really be an act of charity and kindness if they could stop themselves from the knee-jerk compulsion to start every conversation with some reference to Christmas and restraining that urge to conscript everyone into the enforced bonhomie would be a real act of kindness.

It would be nice if all Christmas music was banned from shops until the afternoon.

After all, once it is over and it has turned out as miserable and anti-climactic as does it every year, and they have to face paying back their credit-card bills, and try and shed all the blubber they put on by eating stuff they didn't actually like, through the long biting sunless winter, they will expect our sympathy.

Fair's fair!

lol, agreed!

For me my main problem is just that it starts toooooo early. No need for Xmas songs in October. Fine the shops have to get the stocks in for November but do they have to decorate before December? Not really and it would be far less plastic and commercial if it was done later and probably far more fun.

Just too commercial for me, it's lost all meaning and the stress levels, and as you say the credit card bills, plus the expectations are just so high it is unrealistic.

Wearwolf mask PMSL would luv to see that dude lol

I agree christmas has lost its meaning, i mean we all know Xbox and Playstations are what its all about 3D tv's and maybe a smartphone all this 'religous meanining' has spoilt the real meaning of the technological spirit that Bill Gates who was sent from above told us in a musical tone you hear it when you switch on your windows PC ''nah nah nah nah'' now thats the real christmas spirit talking as we all know,

Fred doesn't want Christmas cheer on his head then eh!

Yoda has a speech for that.

Move me Fear, this monitor is bloody warm!

I'm with Fear. I don't celebrate a fundamentally redundant christian festival of greed. And I like pointing out to my catholic friends that Jesus was jewish and was born in March. However I AM in it for the loot. Woo-hoo!

My boss who is a muslim asked me the other day if I thought it would be insensitive of him and incorrct to send an email to a colleague in the netherlands (a mate of mine) who is jewish, wishing him a merry xmas.

I told him that it definately wouldnt be, becasue even though neither of them actually celebrate the christian festival in its traditional form, it would still be a nice gesture, an excuse to pass on best regards and it would definately be well received because the fella is an all round decent good bloke.
So the two non christians shared their best wishes and had a chat in the name of a global holiday and season of peace and goodwill amongst everyone.

Honestly my PM to fear was a joke, in response to one I got from him. it was received well and banter exchanged - honestly no hard feelings.

But, anybody who does take geniune offense at being asked what they are doing for christmas, or by being wished a happy christmas really does need to have a long look in mirror and sort themselves out.
Not joking, not bah humbug or scrooge, but geniunely - just stop being a miserable bastard for the sake of it. If it wasnt for christmas they'd find something else to moan about.

It does start far too early. And I do feel sorry for staff in shops having to listen to canned seasonal "music" for hour upon endless hour. The extravaganza of conspicious consumption is also at odds with the actual Christmas story of a baby born in a stable.
However, I was at a carol concert last night with perhaps 300 other people. I found it both enjoyable and inspiring. We're also planning to go home to Dublin for a few days, all being well - the first time since 2010. It'll be special to be with so many of the family then.
(I suppose I'll get banned now.)

The Salvation Army were in the Kingfisher Center the other day playing Christmas tunes.

I tell you what The Smiths were more uplifting and joyous than them, it was so dreary it sounded like a funeral!

As I said earlier in the month, Fear = The Grinch :102:

Can't wait my boys are loving it, great fun. It's quite retro out here, based more around the family, having fun. Less commercialised.
