Yes. The story of the charge of the light brigade was remarkable. Thermopoly (wrong spelling) was a last stand, the light brigade survived a mile and a half of cannon and rifle fire to capture a battery of guns, only to find most of the russian army in front of them. After charging the army into a rout the survivors then had to go all the way back again. Think this action saw the most VCs given out just ahead of rorkes drift some years later.

The absolute futility of war and being the Puppet of people who don't give a shit about you and would never serve themselves

Oh you also get a bit of mettle to say well done or your family does

We know your husband, father, brother or son is dead but there you go have that bit of mettle

dont think anyone, even on here sees wars any differently in most ways da fuq but we cant escape the bravery and indeed luck that becomes part of it. Stuff of Legends n all that.

Id be one of those who'd see something like a European defence force as ideal when it came to our own military and spending. Whilst mankind still continues to be selfish at least

A french general who observed the charge famously said "its [the charge] magnificent but it is not war". World was a different place in those days, difficult to attach modern sensibilities after the event. However the soldiers reports were clear that war is hell in any age.
 
Every interview he gives is just always bang on the money.

I like that he doesn't seem to be the archetypical ( is that a word ) manager when it comes to what has happened in the games

I've not seen or read one interview where he has not said what most fans are thinking
