Run-on Tune

For a while now, the tune that the team comes on to, This Girl by Kungs and Cookin' on 3 Burners, has been the song in question.

On LCB a while back, there was a discussion about whether it should remain.

For me, I am all for scrapping it, along with Neil Diamond. Never been a great fan of his, so I'm probably not the best to comment without bias.
More of a Glenn Campbell fan.

It begs the question, should the song the team run on to be changed and if so...to what?

There are obvious ones like Queen Don't Stop Me Now.

Elton John and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting (about a pub in Market Rasen I believe)

A punk/New wave tune

Or a ridiculous Disco tune.

Just to kick the suggestions off, I will go for the latter.

The Pointer Sisters and I'm so Excited.

If that doesn't suit then,

Tenpole Tudor and The Swords of a Thousand Men.

Over to you.

Dunno about run on music but the instumental version of Ready for War by 50 Cent would be good prior to the run out.

i heard is was written about Boston?

How did the sweet Caroline thing come about?
Always liked the Dambusters personally. But did then gradually got won over by Tenpole Tudor, which subsequently disappeared.
Spirit of 76, The Alarm. No doubt, no really football relevant, but I'm sure you get me.

I agree with you Plumbob, Dambusters is the most rousing and of course personal to Lincoln(shire), although I wouldn't be averse to a little medley by Josef Locke! Anything is better than the awful song at the moment.

The Sweet Caroline song is done all over the shop and not original. Think it's time it was binned too.

I'd much prefer Matthew Wilder's Break My Stride to SC.

I think jesamine by the casuals should be played each home game. Not necessarily to run out to but is a great 60’s song by our very own Lincoln group. It got to no2 in 1968 and there was some fierce competition in that era.

Aston Arms, Market Rasen. Google is great!

Indeed it was written about the Aston Arms. Saturday nights used to see fights between the Caistor and Rasen lads in the Market Place outside the Aston Arms (I believe Guy Martin's dad was a bit of a scrapper for Caistor back then). A lot of the early Bernie Taupin-penned songs for Elton John were written about places around Rasen, as he was brought up in Owersby, just a few miles down the road.
