I can’t understand the ‘clarification’ about the ball being out of play. That seems like it has always been the definition but I don’t think VAR will get involved (although they probably should because we all see in nearly every game that the on field decision is wrong as the camera angles are much better than the view of the officials).

The rules are getting more complicate not easier and still we have no official time keeper and the game ends the next time the ball goes dead, such a simple rule and easy to implement. It leaves the referee to concentrate on other things
