Roy Moore says he will not accept defeat in Alabama's election, arguing the vote was "tainted" by outside groups trying to stay in power.

"We are indeed in a struggle to preserve our republic, our civilisation and our religion."

The election race, he claimed, was "tainted by over $50 million from outside groups who want to retain power and their corrupt ideology".

The Christian conservative ex-judge also said the American people "no longer recognise the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty".

"Abortion, sodomy and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

When you believe that a 2,000 year old book is the ultimate law, without change, then you need help. Society moves on, Evangelical Christians don't.

Scrap that. It's more like 3,500 years, as they use the Old Testament more than the New to justify their actions, even though Christ was meant to do away with it.

No sense, no morality, no compassion. Women should be seen and not heard and blacks should be slaves, then we'd all be happy.
