Rowett

IF Rowett is the choice of the new owners (I can't see Montanier surviving now) it would be ironic that IF he became the new manager his first match in charge would be against......Birmingham City.

Love to see him set the team out to get a boring dull 0-0.

A clean sheet would be an excellent acomplishment in a first game, based on our defensive record so far.

Think we could do with a few more Freds pointing this out

More the merrier as far as I'm concerned.... personally, I'd rather we give someone a short term 'keep us up' job.

I'm not sure anyone currently at the club, Jack Lester etc - would be able to bring about the changes needed.

Problem is - Warnock is under contract and he's the most renowned for that particular 'keep us up' job.

KING BILL kept us up me owd and we were truly woeful under clueless that first of the season.

BRE & Toms will be along shortly to confirm that Billy is available, we are still paying him and not only would he keep us up - he's got a fair chance of getting us into the playoffs.

Joking aside - I don't think anyone doubts the job he did first time around, but the situation with the club is far different now to what it was then.

NFFC are in turmoil..... and I'd doubt Billy is the type of character to heal the wounds we have, let alone the personal rifts he has.

Reading this, Jon Torel seems to be a Rowett favourite. 21year old attacking midfielder, plays for Arsenal, but is loaned out to Grenada. Looking to come back and has a new loan to Rangers possibly lined up.

Could he be a Lansbury replacement, with or without Rowett?

Interesting quote from Rowett - “I actually spoke to Jon a couple of days ago and he told me there was a good chance he might be joining Rangers. And I said to him, “can’t you hang on a couple of weeks until I get another job?” but he was quite adamant that he saw this as a good opportunity. And I think he feels Arsenal think it is a good opportunity, too.”

The story was 3 days ago and his loan to Rangers hasn't yet been confirmed.

Holding out for Rowett/us?

I'm a KING BILL fan BUT I'd have to agree with that he wouldn't create a sense of unity although someone with his "us against the world" attitude might help however his version of that involves attacking or ostracising those he perceives to be against him. I'd take him over Warnock though, purely speculative as neither will come here anyway.

Personally I'd have the return of the KING over Rowett as well but I'm aware I'd be in a minority there. The pickings for managers until our reputation is at least partially restored are going to remain a problem though.

I don't want to sack the current one!

We all want there to be continuity but the current incumbent has demonstrated that he's tactically inept and incapable of disciplining the team. It's no use sticking with him for the sake of it.

His results were shaky at the beginning of the season when he had more players. Injuries have kicked-in and confidence dented and it's gone from shaky to disastrous.

Its a shame as he's a nice man, seems to be trying to make decisions for the good of the club but if you don't set the proper foundations then all that is in vain.

He's got to go.

We were just outside the playoffs and the highest scorers in the division despite horrendous bad luck with injuries and our fooktard of a chairman. Let's not make things up...

Then Al fooktard sold Burke behind his back and bargain basement shite was foisted upon him.

Yes he's made mistakes but he's new to the division and new to managing under a retard of a chairman and an utterly inept DoF.

Cotts wouldnt be a bad shout till the end of the season. Same boring ass football as rowett and could probably keep us up with drab draws and 1-0 wins and then replace in the summer . Rather that that rowett on a long term deal and drab boring football for a season and a half and then replace. Where's SOD now?

I cant think of a single positive thing to say about the bloke, he cannot communicate fast enough in English and that alone makes it impossible to manage a largely English squad. He has not instilled anything like the required discipline into the players and if he has had any input into signings he cant spot a player either. The recent interview with a young defender ( who hasn't played since) told you all you need to know about his man management skills as well. His appointment was one of the poorest decisions that the club have ever made in my opinion.
