Rotherham v Swans Sat 30 Jan 15:00 live on SwansTV
It was a hard fought draw against Brentford on Wednesday night.
No respite though as on Saturday we make the 484 mile round trip to South Yorkshire and the old coal and steel town of Rotherham, seven miles North East of Sheffield. They play at the 12k capacity New York Stadium built in 2011 on the site of an old foundry. The area was named New York after the distinctive fire hydrants manufactured there for New York City, so hence the stadium name.
Our last match there was 2018-2019 season, and a controversial defeat. The Swans were leading by a single goal from McBurnie with 72% possession until the final minutes, but ref Tony Harrington decided to intervene and award Rotherham two very dubious penalties which Ryan Manning converted. Guess who the ref is tomorrow, it’s that man Tony Harrington again!
Rotherham come into this match off the back of a 0-3 away win at Middlesboro last Wed night.
Swans team news, key defender Ryan Bennett should return after being rested for the Brentford match, having recently recovered from a hamstring injury. Kyle Naughton will serve a one match suspension after two yellow cards and a sending off against Brentford.
Form Chart last 6 games:
1 Swans: W2-0, W2-0, D0-0, W2-1, W2-0, D1-1 F9 A2 14pts
6 Rotherham: W2-0, L2-1, L2-1, W1-0, D3-3, W3-0 F11 A7 10pts
