Rolling Specubollox Thread

Players seem to require a bedding in period to get used to our style of play ie Sane, Laporte and to a lesser degree Mahrez as he'd have to be a hell of a player to dislodge RS7 - so not sure Chilwell could be seen as a quick fix for Mendys' latest injury - plus how long is Mendy out for and what happens when he is fit and you have two international players vying for one specialist position? I suppose it is wishful thinking to imagine there is a younger player at the club who can step up if required?

There was one but we got rid for some reason, Angelino.

The issue I had with it is if we were to lose Mendy we're back in a position where the whole team has to adapt to accommodate his replacement, if we'd retained Angelino then we'd still have the option of playing attacking fullbacks on both sides as well as the alternative that Delph provides, keep the opposition guessing. We've snookered ourselves and potentially cost ourselves a fortune by selling him.

Ditto Maffeo?

Pep likes Isco supposedly, I have my doubts he would fit in at City, does Pep know more than me? probably.

Isn't Isco a #10 playing behind a central striker? Perhaps he can fill in at LB and give Delph and OZ35 a break from covering for Mendy?

I presume he would be used in the roles that Silva and DeBruyne play if he were to sign, compete with them two and Bernardo, Gundo and, the main reason why I don't want him, Foden.

I think it's bollox anyway, just his agent trying to get competition going for his signature.

Not a quick fix but a genuine left back which we currently have no cover for

As someone on here mentioned a while ago, we’ve been interested in him since he was in nappies but don’t forget he’s “snubbed” us at least once already. Don’t rate him. Don’t want him.

He is a good player, a very good player and I would swap him for Riyad in a heartbeat, an ideal replacement for DS21 when he wants to give up, but not worth the money Real Madrid are purported to be asking.(£!00m)

Chelsea signing Christian Pulisic from Dortmund for £57m - he's to stay with the Bundesliga pace setters for the remainder of the season. Apparently.
