Obese mum and dad lose 20 stone between them

An obese mum and dad lost an incredible 20 stone between them for the sake of their kids – and their 'before' and 'after' transformation is quite astonishing.

Jessica Foster weighed 20st 5lbs and her husband Robert tipped the scales at 21st 8lbs.

But they were so unfit and unhealthy they realised they weren't giving their four young daughters the quality time they deserved – and so decided to do something about it.

The determined couple are now down to a collective 20st. Rob weighs in at 11st 9lbs, loss of 11st 4lbs. Jessica has slimmed down to 8st 5lbs and her dress size has plummeted from a 24 to a size 10.

The couple are healthy, happy and proud to be positive role models to their four young girls.

Brilliant.

Saw a mother and daughter today that would have made you weep. Very sad to see the mom like she was but even worse to see her teenage daughter had been brought up evidently eating the same and not exercising.

Hey ho!

Isn't it weird that the photos are from Facebook? Could this article be a total fabrication using pictures of people who look similar stolen from Facebook?

Of course it could BB, any item you read in the media, anything you see on the news could easily be a complete construct, it would be far from the first.

Actually interested in why reading such a story resulted in you thinking in that way? What made you so suspicious?

I think I'm suspicious of everything in the media these days. There is so much spin and so many lies that any little oddity jumps out at me and unless the story is 100% consistent, I find it suspicious.

That story with no quotes and pictures taken from Facebook just seems odd. Why didn't the reporter call them? Wasn't there a photographer available? Perhaps it's more to do with the budget of online media sources than a fabricated story.

I've noticed a few sex stories in the Malaysian media which are written like that and published without names or photos so I believe they are just made up to fill a few inches.

Clearly this is an article picked up ftom the American press as they are ftom Colorado. As the article is in the Daily Mail, I expect they had enough info for a short article from a simple web search (reporters are lazy, I have first hand experience of this) and the only way to get free photos was from their FB pictures. It's sad though that it seems a reporter doesn't even bother to make a phonecall or two to corroborate their story, no matter how innocent, positive or insignificant the story is.

T actually isn't always the fault of the reporters now.

I know one reporter who said they had been turned almost into ... Damn, what was the phrase used... Feck, err... Bollox. My bloooody memory.

They just compile info as opposed to having the time to investigate and mould into a proper story.

Think it was information gatherers, just almost a cut and paste for the modern society.

Far fewer investigative reporters are far less time in the new 24/7 news cycle.

'It got to the point where we realized it didn't matter what we fed them,' Rob explained to CNN. 'If we weren't eating the same way or if we were overeating, they were going to follow our example.'

It's sad though that it seems the reader doesn't even bother to read the article :39:

I may not be as pretty but I can hold my own in the gym (I have to, no one else will :23: )

I heard Meyouldy uses her as the benchmark for his "I've had worse" catchphrase lol

Given the common interest, if you ask nicely, perhaps she'll hold it for you :10:
