Roku vs Netflix

I came across an ad for Roku. It's about £30 for their dongle which apparently gives you access to 150,000 films.

I'm using Netflix at the moment and it's okay but I'm paying £10 a month for it.

Does anyone have any experience of Roku? Are there subscription fees? Would I be better off on Roku?

Is it just films you want? You need to look at how old those films are, as well. I haven't used either, but gather that Netflix could have more newer films.

I do know you can hack a Roku, and get Kodi working on one.

I thought Roku was a device manufacturer, not a content provider. I have a Roku, but I have to have a Netflix or Amazon account to get content.

My stealing tv days are well behind me, kodi was more trouble than it was worth.
