That's got to be it for Joelinton now (it won't cos he cost £40m.....allegedly) absolutely crap. Frank Pingel & Andreas Andersson levels of shitness here.

Joelinton didn't look fit, looks to be shrugged off the ball too easy (again) and seems visibly frustrated with his teammates . If he can't do it against that level of opponent who can he do it against ?

The long and the short of the day was Newcastle United conspired to draw a game they were completely in charge of at half time. Second half several players didn't have a clue where they should be playing. That's on Bruce (again). Outfought, outplayed and out managed by Rochdale . Living the Sports Direct Dream. Crowd's even turning now.

Some credit to Rochdale who gave it their all in the second half. A romantic story for the scorer, well done to the inexperienced manager for negating our width in the first half, also to the kid who came on and showed great timing in his run before the assist.

They gave some vastly higher earners a lesson in commitment.

So many criticisms of Bruce's substitutions but that's for another day.

And the winner is at home to Oxford
Who knocked us out in 2017, 3-0, as well as twice in the League Cup, giving them a 100% record in cup competitions.

We could have been given someone easier. Oh well, Rochdale can give them a run for their money.

On the other hand, every time we have won the FA Cup, our draw number for the 4th round has always been a single digit, post WW2, 8 or 9. 7 could be in the right range.

Having said that, further analysis shows that Oxford beat us on the way to winning the League Cup in 1986.
