It is now interesting, very interesting in fact.

A perfect Easter period, which brought a win at Walsall and then Monday's superb <a style='color:#0E4FB0' href='http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=591266' target='blank'><b>2-1 victory over Wigan</b></a>, means <a style='color:#0E4FB0' href='http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/' target='blank'><b>Pompey</b></a> sit on the brink of a top-six place.

If a fifth successive win can be secured at Rochdale then there's every chance we'll end the weekend in a play-off spot. Well, providing at least one from Peterborough or Charlton slip up.

However, focusing on our game alone, it'll be far from straightforward. We cannot just assume we'll rock up at Rochdale and win – Dale have it all to play for themselves as they battle against relegation. They too have come into some form when it really counts.

Momentum is a wonderful thing and we most definitely have this. Then again, as said, Rochdale aren't going along too bad at the moment so we could be in for an interesting game this afternoon. Will it be cagey? Perhaps so as both clubs cannot really afford to lose, but the importance of three points apiece means there should be some, eventually, emphasis on going for it.

It'll still be a tall order to achieve the play-offs, we have to be honest and realistic, but we're getting close to the point where we could leave this opportunity within our own hands – who wouldn't have taken that at this stage back in August!

Yes, a cliché I know, but we need to take it a game at a time in many ways. A win at Spotland though – I wouldn't dream of being arrogant enough to say it'll happen – and what a HUGE game it'll be at Home Park against Plymouth a week today.

Having taken six from six over Easter, if it ended in a draw today that wouldn't actually represent a bad result in the grand scheme would it.

However, all three, which I think we can achieve, even against a side in form, would leave us VERY MUCH in with a play-off chance after all.

To say Pompey's top-six hopes were at the make or break stage ahead of Rochdale isn't true. However, a dramatic equaliser could prove crucial ahead of Plymouth next Saturday.

Ahead of the game, I said a point, given the positives from Easter, wouldn't have been bad. I'll stand by that. Rochdale wasn't a gimmie, but coming back to claim a point in added time has to make this feel like a win?

Yes, from the sounds of it, we weren't at our best, but this still saw us battle all the way to earn a point. We'll take this and move onto Plymouth, where we WILL need to be better.

Think, given he scored two goals and played a part in the added-time equaliser, it isn't a surprise to see Pitman win this MotM award.
